Zaire Wilkins Aug 30, 2012
ummm yea guess what lambroghini uses now in the murc's replacement
Ben Norton Aug 29, 2012
Zaire a super car can't have a manual? The murcialago(bad spelling) was the best in my opinion just because of the 6 speed
Paul Lissona Aug 29, 2012
It's stupid that everything has to be a hybrid, there should be more choices. And gtrs look weird, and don't like their personality.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
thats what most super cars are doing anyway the next bugatti is gonna be a hybrid also
Chris Penza Aug 28, 2012
If it's going hybrid it better go KERS style
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
@ nick thats what i said but shorter version but imagine launch control with a hybrid it will not hesitate a milli second. maybe 0-60 in 2.5 secs or 2.4
Nick Ricci Aug 28, 2012
A hybrid could be perfect. Massive amount of immediate torque from the generators and some heavy horses from the combination of the engine and motors. Sounds like the right way to go, it trying to keep up with the nickname 'the super car killer'.
Pablo Herasme Aug 28, 2012
Sorry Adam its ganna take a lot more than that for the GTR to go away.
No Pistons Aug 28, 2012
Yea even MORE tech to cheat its way to speed
Cory Deines Aug 28, 2012
@Abraham: Yep I have. I understand wanting a traditional manual because it's fun, but the GT-R's DCT really is spectacular.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
nooo the GT-R is on super car status you will never see a manual in that car especially with the launch control
Jackson Bond Aug 28, 2012
I've driven one, it was great. But I'd rather have a manual too it's just something a true car needs to have. And a hybrid would disgrace the gtr name
Cory Deines Aug 28, 2012
If you'd actually driven a GT-R you wouldn't complain about the dual clutch tranny. It's fantastic.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
so that means you want the GT-R to be a sports car if you want them to ditch that tranny i think its perfected
Ben Norton Aug 28, 2012
Please give it a manual transmission. No paddle shifters or bump shift crap. I want a true manual.
Andy Kleschick Aug 28, 2012
all I gotta say is that if they do it, there better be output similar to the carrera gt replacement.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
maybe that instant torque will make the 0-60 like a bugatti
Mike Ulickey Aug 28, 2012
Cool, excited to follow this and see how this pans out. R36 will have some big shoes to fill.
Zeus Mocha Aug 29, 2012
Legacy and this article is a face palm XD
John Serely Aug 29, 2012
I say a4, the new ones look sharp. But I haven't driven the any of them, so im not sure
No Pistons Aug 29, 2012
I would say legacy
Esam Mohammad Aug 29, 2012
I know this has nothing to do with the article .. But I really need help Volvo s60 vs Audi A4 vs Hyundai Azera vs Subaru Legacy ?! I'm getting a new car soon , so which one of these u think is better ? They are all priced the same in my country
Abraham Mendoza Aug 29, 2012
I've heard that early GTRs had clutch issuers when they first launched. I was quite surprised.
Paul Lissona Aug 29, 2012
Gtrs should look better for the price. They have a no character etc type of look. A German car has more personality.
Randy Hjelm Aug 29, 2012
Haha so this means the gtr went from Godzilla to Barney the weak pink loser of the dinosaurs haha
No Pistons Aug 29, 2012
Granted this is probably the only thing dodge made that lasted more then 2k miles haha
No Pistons Aug 29, 2012
Actually based on repair/consumer reports the viper throughout its years has minimum to no failures/repairs where the GTR had quite sufficient failures in the steering and suspension department along with the powertrain with the whole launch control
Zaire Wilkins Aug 29, 2012
trust me no ones hurt
Abraham Mendoza Aug 29, 2012
That's not what I meant. Yeah its fast but you gotta drive it wrong. Enter a corner late, accelerate faster.
Matt Piccolo Aug 29, 2012
I think u'd die with just as big a smile on ur face in the gtr as u would in the viper... But u r right, the gtr is bullet proof, the viper will probably brake after 5k ;)
Abraham Mendoza Aug 29, 2012
If you die in a Viper, you die with a smile on your face. You die on the track in the GTR, you look like a fool since its bullet proof.
No Pistons Aug 29, 2012
Sounds like someone is hurt lol
Zaire Wilkins Aug 29, 2012
well you have the viper then your asking to see the gates of heaven?
No Pistons Aug 29, 2012
Turning off traction control doesn't turn off ABS, Power steering assist, computers controlling the trans, turbos, AWD system, and there is a bit more I can go into. I love the GTR but it was programmed to be fast not built and earned like the viper
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
no its not they said it on motor trend just turn off traction control and no computers
Abraham Mendoza Aug 28, 2012
I know its a lot more, but the Viper does it with no aids, no all wheel drive, and no paddle shifted manual. And if you decide to change any settings, you void your warranty....
No Pistons Aug 28, 2012
It's a lot more then just traction control
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
umm the GT-R can have its computers turned by umm pressing lets say the traction control button
No Pistons Aug 28, 2012
Track times? GTR can't even touch the viper. Plus the viper does it without being a supercomputer, paddles and AWD.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
they said if you turn traction control off in the GT-R you better have the best judgement on the road
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
@aron you messed up when you said american muscle and viper in the same sentence.
Miguel Jimenez Aug 28, 2012
The Viper absolutely spanks on the GT-R!
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
I'll stick with my gtr :) love this thing!
Aaron Crisp Aug 28, 2012
Base Viper is $95k and GTR is $96k... According to what I've heard and CarBuzz. I would rather have a Viper, just my American muscle dream. But that GTR is amazing.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
yea but the GT-R and viper are rare cars to see on the road id take both
Justin Routh Aug 28, 2012
Not by much if you got enough for the gtr you have an extra 10k give or take for the viper
Thibault Leroy Aug 28, 2012
If youre talking about the 2013 viper im pretty sure it cost more than a GTR
Justin Routh Aug 28, 2012
Completely agree. Its quite the machine for the price but the two you mentioned plus the Z06 or ZR1 are much more appealing to me
John Serely Aug 28, 2012
I respect the speed of this car, but I'd rather have a 991 or a Viper for the money
Description: Originally penciled in for 2015, the new GT-R has been delayed as the supercar's chief engineer and product specialist Kazutoshi Mizuno took a leave of absence due to health problems. Though tech...

lol erich alot of dudes want to play pin fist on your throat ( punch you in your adams apple)
Michael Davidson Aug 29, 2012
I've been seeing a lot of this Erich guy lately, and he's kind of getting on my nerves.
Dillon Dixon Aug 29, 2012
Damn it! I can't believe I missed out on this whole argument!
Brad Hickey Aug 29, 2012
I don't mind hybrids if they make it faster. They could be used as launch assistance/acceleration due to 100% instant torque. You guys have this hate all hybrid shit need to get the "hybrids are just for Prius" should lose that idea.
Paul Lissona Aug 29, 2012
Yah I kinda respect these cars, but don't like them cause their looks are too Jaoanese plain.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 29, 2012
well anyway i can see the R36 being the best GT-R
Paul Dickey Aug 29, 2012
Inspires me to go buy a real car and not a computer. Respect it though.
Abraham Mendoza Aug 29, 2012
It gets a lot of attention because it has legacy, its done great things and this one represents that legacy well. It may be overcalculating, but it inspires the driver. That's hard to do.
Abraham Mendoza Aug 29, 2012
This is gettin personal. Guys seriously, this about cars, not personal opinions on other people based in first impressions.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 29, 2012
erich and connor you guys should go out
Scott Gracey Aug 29, 2012
918 this, f1 that, NSX this, GT-R that... People... The only upcoming car that truly matters is the Enzo successor ;p
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
well every one is entitled to there own opinion
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
adam that wasnt a good one this car gets alot of thumbs up the only issues with this car is the exhaust note and the stiff suspension.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
haha @ abraham your confused i said the Mclaren F1 sucessor will be better
Abraham Mendoza Aug 28, 2012
Ok, Dillon and Zaire started the topic, Zaire said the GTR would be better than the 918 so....does that help?
John Serely Aug 28, 2012
@connor not to get into the "argument", but when he said the Porsche was a tenth quicker, he was referring to the 997TTS, not the 918, which is only twice as expensive
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
What did he just say?
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
well they said the last updated GT-R gets 570hp or 600hp
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
@ Connor, lol i did that cuz I was at the 250 letter limit an I wasn't gunna make another post so i could add the k lol
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
@ Abraham, yes but look at hyper cars like the ccx, mc12, Zonda f etc, the gtr beat all them round the nurburgring? I see what ur saying but we have no info on the r36, for all we know it could have a 600hp v6 Tt and a 150hp electric motor. Who nows?
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
@ Miguel, yes sorry I was incorrect, that is the only Porsche quicker, I had forgotten about it...
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
@ Erich, yea but the gtr is quicker on the nurburgring by just over 15 seconds! And it beats the Carrera gt by 7 seconds
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
but the GT-R just needs versatile suspension needs a soft side and stiff side (pause)
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
erich must be a GT-R troll
Mario Callirgos Aug 28, 2012
@/Mendoza not to nitpick but nissans Juke R lists around 500k
Miguel Jimenez Aug 28, 2012
@Matt I believe the Porsche 911 GT2 is faster around the nurburgring.
Pablo Herasme Aug 28, 2012
People calm down it just a rumor, we'll have to wait to make sure.
Abraham Mendoza Aug 28, 2012
Matt let's be serious, the Porsche will he faster because that has a combined output of 800 hp, Nissan wouldn't do that because they would put themselves next to the NSX and Supra which will be supercars. The Porsche will by a hypercar that'll cost more than half a million, Nissan won't make a car that expensive.
Mario Callirgos Aug 28, 2012
Matt the 911 Turbo S clocked a tenth faster in the last comparo.
Andrew Morales Aug 28, 2012
Yeah that f1 successor should be the fastest thing around nurburgring and most any other track. As long as they find someone to pilot it
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
And u also havnt seen pics of it so how do u know it won't looks better?
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
Is competing with the nsx to be a reason for it to b slower...
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
@ dillon, how do u know that! The gtr is quicker than any production Porsche to date... So why not? And so what if Nissan is competing with the nsx... If u read the artical, Acura clams the nsx will out run the gtr... So I don't see the fact that it
John Serely Aug 28, 2012
@thibault yea, but besides handling a looks, there's also exclusivity, interior, sound as several other factors
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
but i think the mclaren F1 sucessor is gonna do better than the 918
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
well shall till we get stats on the R36
Ethan Amo Aug 28, 2012
Ok, let's face it...if its going to be fully hybrid, no ones going to buy it...same thing for the NSX...these cars aren't "average" do for the amount of sales, keep them all gas..I'd even settle for diesel..
Thibault Leroy Aug 28, 2012
@John well if it beats it in performance then the 918 can only beat it in looks and handling but the GTR already handles really well soo idk its still in 6years
Dillon Dixon Aug 28, 2012
@zaire bc they are looking at possibly competing with the new NSX and Acura hybrid. Neither of those will competence competition for the 918. So why would the R36 be?
Abraham Mendoza Aug 28, 2012
Where is Matt? I expected the article to hit 9000 comments by the evening.
John Serely Aug 28, 2012
I'm really hoping the next GTR will have a stupid fast acceleration like The current one, because that's the only reason I would buy one
John Serely Aug 28, 2012
@brady no, i highly doubt it will be near The 918. Maybe preformance-wise, but EVERY other aspect the 918 should blow it out of the water!
Christo Savaides Aug 28, 2012
As long as making it a hybrid doesn't increase the weight, I'm fine with it.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
@dillon how do you even know
Dillon Dixon Aug 28, 2012
Brady, The R36 will not be better than the 918. Not even gonna happen.
Brady Fereday Aug 28, 2012
Porsche is doing it and their car is going to be a monster so I can see Godzilla being the better monster
Pablo Herasme Aug 28, 2012
As long as it has 3.8 or larger, I'm fine with a hybrid.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
i bet they are gonna up the Hp to like 570
Justin Routh Aug 28, 2012
Hate to be that guy but..... How cool is this Matt?!
Description: Whether the current GT-R is mated to an electric boost or if a hybrid system could only be incorporated into the next model remains to be seen, but Inside Line also reports that a revised version of t...

Justin Routh Aug 29, 2012
Because those are comparable cars -.-
Nicolai Stålstrøm Dalen Aug 29, 2012
Agreed. I prefer a 458.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 30, 2012
dosent the panamera turbo S have a V8 how would it outrun a twin turbo V6 with 570hp the most
Scott Gracey Aug 29, 2012
I still think with all the added weight the panamera would outrun it
Matt Greenlee Aug 29, 2012
it could have doors like an RX-8. that would save room/weight/length, and still allow easier access to the rear seats.
Zaire Wilkins Aug 29, 2012
actually thats what im pursing to be a car engineer so how would you know what i dont know of what i really know
Zaire Wilkins Aug 29, 2012
it already has seats in the back it wouldnt be that much heavier 380 pounds most* and it would compete with a panamera cause its an AWD saloon
Scott Gracey Aug 29, 2012
If it added more doors it would need more seats, then it'd prolly be longer, and alot heavier... I don't think it'd compete with the panamera
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
this thing would look good with four doors and kill the worlds fastest sedan (porsche panamera) that is until the bugatti galiber arrives
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
hmmm its already very aerodynamic i expect sharper headlights
Joshua Minh Tran Aug 28, 2012
Hopefully the new R36 will have a more supercar type body...then It would be perfect
Tyson Broadbent Aug 29, 2012
There is some cf accents.
Justin Routh Aug 29, 2012
Its just about as basic as the vette thats why theyre both priced the way they are
Justin Routh Aug 29, 2012
@Matt how can you comment about the vettes interior when looking at this picture LOL
Abraham Mendoza Aug 29, 2012
I win!! Happy dance!!
Abraham Mendoza Aug 29, 2012
And the interior for this car looks similar to a 90s civic, but honestly I've rode in a 80s C4, which has a awful interior, but I don't care. It's so got damn fun to ride in. I really don't care about interior quality when looking at a sports/supercar. As long it has the basics, I'll enjoy the ride.
Matt Piccolo Aug 29, 2012
Like its from a 15k car
Matt Piccolo Aug 29, 2012
@ Abraham, sorry but u look at the inside of ur car more than the outside, Being a supercar doesn't give it any excuse to have the interior of a 90's, well anything... Honestly, any new mid-sized sedan on the market, makes the vette's interior look
Abraham Mendoza Aug 29, 2012
You don't buy supercars for interior quality you buy them for speed and fun. You care about interior then buy a E Class
Justin Routh Aug 29, 2012
@Connor the corvette is a heavily upgraded $50k car? Thats why the only cars faster around the ring than the Z06 and ZR1 are the viper, GT2 RS, and the LFA Nurburgring. Yeah they suck
Scott Gracey Aug 29, 2012
For what it is and why you're buying it I like the interior
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
Idk it just seems u always hate on like every car... I'm not saying its bad, but if someone asked me what kind of car u liked, the only answer I could give is the r8 since its ur profile pic
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
maybe if they had sharper lines in it maybe it would look better
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
@ Adam, it might just b me, but what cars do u like, it seems u say every car is ugly? Idk it could just b me
Mario Callirgos Aug 28, 2012
Both cars are lighting fast, both interiors could have alot better interiors! And most car guys don't care. If I want a GTR with a posh interior I would drop the 35k on a 911TurboS. If I want a ZR1 with a posh interior I would get a 599 for 100k +
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
"like it belongs in a car of this price" god damn auto correct lol
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
@ Mario, I know, hence tje reason I said "oh wait... Nvr mind" at the end of that post... And the gtr's interior actually looks like it slings in a car of Thai price, so how is it "in the same boat"
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
i remeber when this car first surfaced in 2007 with only 475hp it was a sports car then. but now its a super car
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
and they actually have a luxury version called the Egoist only
Abraham Mendoza Aug 28, 2012
Yeah the Vette has to be a Vette, which starts at about 50 grand.
Mario Callirgos Aug 28, 2012
Matt thats because the vettes interior did come from a 20k car, The GTR is in the same boat tho!
Matt Piccolo Aug 28, 2012
@ Danny lol fine compared to the vettes? This makes the vettes interior look like it came from a 20k car... Oh wait.. Nvr mind
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
true all of the modern corvette interiors are wacky
Danny Scott Aug 28, 2012
Lol the interior is fine compared to a vette...
Zaire Wilkins Aug 28, 2012
needs the infiniti M-class interior
Brady Fereday Aug 28, 2012
They said in the article that they are revising the current model by the end of next year so maybe they will make a manual version
Kyle Smith Aug 28, 2012
If it had a 6 or 7 speed manual this car would be ultimate. I still adore the GTR but the 2012 911 with the 7 speed stick is my dream car.
Matthew van der Linde Aug 28, 2012
Love how its like driving a computer, its a really cool interior
