TRD-Tuned Toyota GT86 Drifting in Thailand

Race-spec GT86 drifted around Phuket road circuit as Toyota introduces their latest sports coupe to Thailand.

Demonstrating the drifting capabilities of the Toyota GT86 is apparently the best way to introduce the car to fans in Asia, as having launched the car in Indonesia with such a demonstration, the Japanese automaker has followed suite in Thailand.

This time they took a race-spec GT86, prepped by in-house tuning shop Toyota Racing Development (TRD), and a professional drift driver to a slippery road circuit in the southern province of Phuket.
Event-goers were then given the chance to ride shotgun in the two-door coupe as it was drifted to perfection.

Toyota says their new model was built "for the pure intrinsic of joy and drive." The Toyota GT86 carries an MSRP of $25,000 and features a 200hp 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed manual which sends power to the rear wheels.
