2013 Beetle Gets the R-Line Treatment

Volkswagen has given its lovable bug a sportier look and feel inside and out with new R-Line package.

Volkswagen has created a pair of new R-Line packages for its latest take on the classic Beetle. The throwback hatchback now has the option for a new exterior look and another for a fresh interior, creating something of a new feel for the pseudo-retro car. Crafted by VW's R performance division, the exterior package features a new front bumper with black trim around the air inlets and above on the headlights. A rear diffuser, chrome trim, wider fenders and R-Line logos round out the package for a sportier look.

A set of 19-inch Tornado alloys are available in either black or white. The R-Line interior package includes ventilated Kyalami sport seats, leather-trimmed sports steering wheel, Dark Vanadium decorative inlays and unique badging. Optional Vienna leather and R-Line badging on the head rests and door sills are available as well. The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Sport to which the package is fitted is available with either a 160-horsepower 1.4-liter TSI gasoline engine or the 2.0-liter TDI diesel plant with 140hp. The R-Line exterior package runs €1,290 while the interior package adds another €1,675.
