Leno Drives de Macross Supercar

The Denim chin checks out a South Korean supercar made in Canada.
It's been a while since the Denim Chin gave an exotic one-off the once-over at his famous garage, so having the de Macross Epique GT1 supercar pay him a visit makes for a nice treat. The car is the realization of Keyser J. Hur's dream, a South Korean vintage sports car collector who wanted to create a modern tribute to classic designs. The retro shape is motivated by the same 5.4-liter supercharged V8 as the Ford GT, but upgraded by Roush to 845 horsepower and 740 pound-feet of torque for a 3.1-second 0-60 time and a 235 mph top end.

The mid-engined, million-dollar race-spirited de Macross features a Multimatic engineered hybrid carbon fiber and aluminum monocoque chassis and 4-way independently adjustable Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve [DSSV] dampers - the same technology used by Red Bull Racing when it won the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship.
