Pagani Huayra Coming to America Mid-2013

American buyers will have to wait a little longer to get Pagani’s new supercar in their driveways.

Although the Huayra, named after a South American deity, was presented in the US at Pebble Beach the last two years running, it has taken longer than expected to get the necessary EPA and CARB regulatory certification without which it cannot be deemed street-legal.

In short, the Huayra was not exempt from having air bags, so these have now been fitted. "The welcome we have received by the American audience and car enthusiasts in 2011," noted Horacio Pagani at Pebble this year, "made us eager to return in 2012 with an even stronger presence and we cannot wait to see the first US-spec Pagani Huayras on North American soil in mid-2013." Numbers will be very limited and slots are already filling up fast for the Huayra, which is expected to be priced at around $1.4 million.
