I'm fine with heavier better looking rides. You want top performance? Get the drag pak. If I lose by a second or two, that's fine. Love the looks and comfort. I use those a lot more than 0-60. Gettin on it is fun, but how much do you sacrifice?
They really need to make it lighter. Some more power would be nice too, if it were to compete with the GT500 and ZL1.
Miguel I'd say 600 would be a minimum. If they don't get it near 3500 it will still be as far behind as the challenger is
I don't get why people think old muscle cars were heavy. The 69 Camaro only weighed 3,100lbs, the 67 Mustang weighed 3,100lbs as well, the Challenger weighed 3,250lbs.
Now now the dart was not ruined the new one is actually a really good car minus the underpowered engine, I test drove the rallye version has a lot of nice equipment, that touch screen is very responsive and the handling is actually pretty good

People better get used to these small engines. The mustangs using a 4 banger this will and the camaro will soon follow they still offer all the big engines so no reason to complain.
You could drive a truck over a box of puppies and I will be less upset than if they put a 4cyl in the Barracuda.
I heard some rumors about a 6.2 supercharged hemi in the works, only time will tell.

No one gave a damn about the Dart until they revived the name as a good, modern car and personally, I hate that the Chally is such a pig that it can't compete. SRT, give me the MOPAR that will perform better than mustang and camaro.

I like all the new renditions of the classic muscle cars except the new Charger. They really screwed that one up.

@Paul. Just stating my opinion on the performance of the current model. I thought the other people were comparing performance and looks on this article too. The Challenger looks the best IMO.

The Challenger does have the best N/A engine of the 3. But if you have the money get the supercharged ZL1 or GT500.
Hope they don't forget how the cuda actually looked back in the day, like they did with the dart ( try bring back some of that old school flair)
Yea the challenger wins in the retro look department, it's sad it's performance just isn't up to par with the others and the interior was horrible so blah. But now that they have fiat money and seeing the viper and new darts interior I'm excited
I would have to say for myself this is the best looking rendition of all the retro models being done.
As far as looks Challenger>Camaro>Mustang Performance Camaro>Mustang>Challenger.

If it didn't have an 8.8 in the rear and had wider tires and a better traction Controll system on par with the zl1 id like it a little better but even though it's got less power I definitely would go with the zl1

There is set to be a 4 banger for the next gen mustangs. I know it sad but it not like they are cutting the v6 or v8 thu are just adding another option.
The front of the cobra is just straight mean. But never really liked from the fenders back.
Love the rawness of the first in the EVO of pony cars! Mustang GT and higher performing Mustangs for life. Unless Ford messes up and adds a 4 banger to the line up!
i like how all Three of them came back out but the Mustang ends up being the fastest and the SRT is the slowest.

Matt, the both the SS and the GT (can't say for the SRT8 haha) are perfectly capable of keeping around a track with say a 370Z of about the same price. It doesn't matter though, because we all have different taste. Just choose what you like.
Which are the real muscle cars IMO bec last time I checked muscle cars were affordable sports cars with high power #'s

the only thing is that all these modern muscle cars suck after 6th gear thought they would have gotten rid of that by now
@Ryan they both have eaton superchargers the ZR1 has a 2.3L blower and the ZL1 has 1.9L. The ZR1 also has forged internals.
Tim its the same engine as a zr1 minus the eaton charger and I think stronger connecting rods gm ls series engines are the shit they may be pushrod but they are bullet proof compact and extremely tune able I want an ls1 in my jeep
I used to dislike Ford but I have to say IMO: Mustang > Charger/Challenger > Camaro , still a GM fan at heart though.

The ZL1 beat the new BMW M6 in a head to head comparison in the latest Car and Driver I believe. May have been Road and Track. But point is, this is the 21st century, Muscle cars are fast in every direction now.
Ahh poor Dan. What a common misconception. Older muscle, yes, typically harder to handle around the track than most vehicles, but modern muscle cars have scary good weight distribution, suspension, brakes, traction control, LSD, and ECU management.

The 2 companies have been parts swapping for awhile now, the SLS and the Viper share some chassis components if I'm not mistaken

A smaller challenger/barracuda would be a wise option for Chrysler. I LOVE mopar and they need to get with the times to compete. Love the chally but its no contest in terms of a performance vehicle against the mustang and camaro =\

Ben do u know what based on means... It shares many Mercedes components not just one, shares te front controll arm suspension, rear differential, rear suspension te automatic is from Mercedes and the ESP system all Mercedes based
It will be mustang sized, losing 8 inches in overall length and 6 in wheelbase. Also a 300-400 lbs reduction.

Probably you should have an editor... The Challenger is built off of a shortened LX platform; it has but one component also used in an E class: it's 5 link rear suspension. So NOT based on the E Class. It's based on the 300C.
