New Porsche GT3 Spotted Naked in Spain

Spied without camouflage at a gas station in Spain are not one, not two, but three 991 prototypes for the new 911 GT3.
Ever since the introduction of the new Porsche 911, enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new GT3. And we've got good news for them as a trio of the upcoming performance-focused sportscars have been spotted completely undisguised at a gas station in Spain. Captured by Dani Dominguez More of Colla Verglas, the pre-production prototypes carry the telltale signs of the GT3 applied to the shape of the latest 991-generation Elfen.

That means a large rear wing and front air vent of the GT3, with twin centrally-mounted exhaust pipes protruding from the rear. Other features identifiable in the photos and brief video clip are the 20-inch wheels wearing Pirelli P-Zero tires and packing bigger brakes than the Carreras released to date.

The prototypes are said to have been testing at the IDIADA test track in Tarragona with PDK dual-clutch transmissions delivering the power to the rear wheels instead of a traditional stick-shift setup. Porsche is scheduled to bring the new all-wheel drive 911 Carrera 4 to Paris for its debut later this week. The new 911 GT3, however, should arrive sometime later this year or early next year.
