YAY NSX! I want one of the old ones so bad... O the things I could do with an NSX and are y'all saying the new NSX is going to compete with the r8 4.2 or the baby NSX because I thought the new NSX was supposed to be more competing at a higher level
This car is something way different from an R8 but I would like the old NSX than this cuz conpanies are starting to make these shitty new "futuristic" crap cars that are annoyin please stop
I really hope Honda has to ability to set the super car standard one again like they did with the old NSX !!
Are people confusing a similar layout (mid-engine, AWD) as 2 cars looking alike? This doesn't look like an r8.
@drhuv actually it will fight the V8V, R8 4.2 and the i8, not the "big boys" of the under-500k car world
It only looks like an R8 in pictures. I've seen it at the NAIAS and it just doesn't look like an R8 in person.
Ya at one time the old nsx was the start of a super car era, it was the leader, then Honda lost there way, and I give them props for trying to find their way back
I see a little bit of Mini Cooper in there, there's 4 tires, windows, 2 doors, and they both have headlights! o.0 creepy
This car is beautiful, but its not stunning. The design is too... Contemporary. It's missing that zing of Ferraris and lambos. You know?
It's all opinion on whether people like it or not but I really don't get how it looks like an r8... I saw the concept @ the Toronto auto show and it looks in person lower and sleeker than an r8 and has a lot more curves as well!
I really don't see any R8 in this at all. It's an all around ok car just nothing very special.

It's definitely gonna be fun to drive. But as previously stated, AWD adds some weight. Transfer cases aren't very light and have to have other half shafts and drive shafts adds even more weight.
@david I now that M transmissions and RWD are lighter but remember that a heavy body or rims,etc are critical.Oh and if Im wrong correct me please,I can make errors. @patrick But yeah you got the point anyways,but if it has the same soul as the oldy,its okay to me.Although is AWD but it can be fun to drive like the susessor.

I wish that Honda develop a V8 with at least 450 hp for the new NSX.That will be a little more competitive with modern day supercars. And @patrick i agree with you,RWD and a manual but you forgot a little point---->LIGHTWEIGHT
Honda finally stepping up to the modern day sports car pressure Toyota is putting on. I'm excited for this new age! maybe the Acura badge doesn't sound as exotic as Lamborghini or Ferrari, but I assure you, there won't be a lack of attention.

If your worried that millionaires will all stop buying mid engine super cars and just buy a Honda, don't worry that wont happen.
Tony mid engine cars are around though mr2 is one for example so a mid engine Honda wouldn't be bad it would be awesome especially if it's turboed

They should build it using parts from the accord. They could Mid mount that sweet v6 which already has a nice manual transmission. Price it just above the accord coupe. Skip the high tech SH-AWD make it the simple NSX. Keep the $ down.
Drop another 20k, if you can and/or want and you have a 700-800 hp dd. for the price you can't beat it. I mean a 900+hp GT500 will run you over 100k. And no one is really making competitive imports any more. Honda is stick on the civic band waggon.
The big problem is that most of the good sports cars are out of the price range of the average person. About the only good deal I see now days is the GTR. 09 GTRs go for 60k with 50k miles.
I agree David. But the times are changing. There is the GT86/BRZ/FRS though and that seems to be bringing back the simple sports cars.
what if the world wants a simpler, fun sports car? cars are getting to complex and expensive. My 72 240z windows still roll up. Just my 2 horsepowers worth.
2017 release, who really cares ? Entire world could change drastically in next 5 years and this could once again be killed.
Very cool but I can't imagine how much smaller a NSX could get and still have room for actual people to get in. Regardless, I'm a big fan of the NSX and producing a more affordable option is great.
Still like this better then many exotic car today. It's original and still stylish. The new one looks... Well... Acuraish...
If you want to know how good these early NSXs are, share a track with one that's got a really competent driver at the wheel. Trust me, they're outstanding.
@Justin No, REAL sports cars are front engine, rear wheel drive. THAT is the definition of a fun car.
I would love to have the original. It's exactly what a sports car is suppose to be, lightweight, mid engine, rwd, and most importantly FAST. Good looking too IMO ;)

To expand on what Zachary says, this s2000 cr(club racer) has stiffer suspension stickier tires no folding soft top, ac as an option, and aero add ons, when compared to a standard s2000.excellent engine 120 hp/L, quite an achievement. Amazing car.
@aaron, if you were a car guy, you would know this was a race inspired s2000, not a civic stupid

What Jordan said is spot on. But 5.5 0-60 is what I would say is a 'fast' car. So no it isn't Ferrari fast...but then it was never intended to be. A 13-14 second 1/4 mile isn't shabby at all.
These things aren't built for half second 0-60's. They're built for the enjoyment of the ride and to handle great. And they do both quite well.
And they are definitely not slow I have driven one the build revs like a bat out of hell and the gear box is amazing
So 23k versus 80k for a cayman r and you can stomp the cayman r on twisty roads sounds like one hell of a deal to me
And the kit on the car in the picture gives it great breaks some added aro and better suspension you can pick one of these club racer specs I think it's called for under 20 grand and you add about 3 ontop of that for power mods and it will eat cayman

The s2k runs 13.9-14.1 depending on the year... Where r u getting 15 from... And u do know this isn't a drag car right? So no duh it doesn't have a great 1/4 mile time... On the track (one that's not a straight line, this things a beast
@Matt. I don't have to drive one. I've destroyed a couple on the track. I also know what qualifies as a "fast" car. Something that runs 15's in the 1/4 aren't "fast". No offense to your car but it really isn't.

I recently bought a z3 2.2 but would love to drive a s2. My uncle had one and it is meant to be a real old school sports car...really work it hard to get the performance but apparently very rewarding...
Hey kiddies this car is not slow it handles amazing and has enough power to scare you while doing it. I have owned 2 s2ks 2 sti's 1 350z and 1 zcp m3 and I still miss my s2000. A s2000 is the perfect street machine.
