2014 Bentley Flying Spur Spotted on the Nurburgring

The next Bentley Continental Flying Spur has been captured undergoing development test work at the Nurburgring.

We've spotted the redesigned 2014 Bentley Continental Flying Spur several times before undergoing street testing, but today our intrepid spy photographers were at the Nurburgring to catch the British automaker put the four-door version of the new Continental through its paces on the infamous Nordschleife. The big sedan will now be available with not only the marque's signature W-12 engine but also the new V8, co-developed with VW Group sister-company Audi and already deployed on the Continental GT.

As previously reported here on CarBuzz, the new Flying Spur looks set to adopt all of the updates applied to the new Continental family. These changes include a more upright grille, redesigned bumpers and new front and rear lights. The awkward roofline of the previous model appears to have been smoothed out as well for the new Flying Spur, which ought to help solidify its standing and increase its market share as the benchmark ultra-luxury sedan, while fending off advances from the new Rolls-Royce Ghost and upcoming top-of-the-line versions of the next Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Expected the new Flying Spur to hit the market in late 2013 or early 2014.
