Seemingly unable to wait for the all-new C7 Corvette, Motor Trend's Carlos Lago checks out the final variant of the epic C6: the 7-liter Corvette 427.
Chevy will soon send the C6 into retirement with a special edition they claim to be the quickest open-top Vette ever: the 7-liter V8-powered Corvette 427. With the 427-cubic-inch LS7 under the hood, the special edition is essentially a Z06 convertible - something that Chevrolet never built. That means 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with the wind in your face, along with a special paint job, upgraded aerodynamics and carbon-fiber components.
Capable of a 3.8-seconds 0-60 run and 190+ mph top speed, the 427 edition is arguably the finest Corvette to ever roll out of Bowling Green, Kentucky. While we wait for the C7 to come along, Motor Trend has taken this farewell edition for a little romp. Check it out in the video below.
