@lou it's not that hard if you buy the turbo model which was nearly identical to the neon srt4. A few simple mods and you have a serious sleeper

Platform. Either way, they have the same frame. Also, how could a car not have a frame. All cars are made with frames, some may not be full frames or durable frames but all cars have some sort of frame.

The neon and pt cruiser do not have a frame per say... They are unibody cars and share the same platform.
The normally aspirated one is junk. The turbo is alright. But the PT Cruiser is not a very economical compact. I guess it isn't. Hahaha. It is a light truck. Go figure!
My cousin got my grandmas old one, it is the GT model and as ugly as it is, it's pretty comfortable and fun to drive. Would never consider buying one haha

Yes they did have a model that had the neon srt-4 motor.. sadly as ugly as these are i drove a manual version with the turbo 2.4 and thats one confortable ass seating position and that is a fun thing to throw around, but its just so ugly
Chrystal offered up mopar parts for the pt that could take the horsepower up to about 300 or 320.

Maybe your sensor was taking a shit, cause I've never had a problem with them and everyone I know uses them and never had a single problem... did it do it after u cleaned and oiled the filter ?
K&n filter oil mess up your mass airflow sensor. It did to my car. $50 filter in the garbage and the sensor cost more then $200. Now I'm on a stock paper filter and a check engine light that keeps coming on even after cleaning the maf sensor.
I will never ever get into one of these cars. If I were stranded somewhere and someone offered me a ride to safety on one I would say, "No. I'd rather die."

The zero to 60 times are about dead on for both the si and pt. It's just that the pt is a car that is made very poorly compared to the civic. Not to mention the safety factor.

There is no Cold air intake in this picture. That is a short ram. K&N aren't too good, I prefer Injen, AEM, and aFe.
@Greg I'd rather have a stock 1.8 civic than the 2.4 turbo PT Cruiser. And for $25k the civic Si is way better.

Only real aftermarket thing I have on my Focus is a K&N intake, also boosted gas mileage. Thing pays for itself. I'm not out racing but it helps the engine quite a bit.
I put an intake on my wife's 09 Sebring and was able to get some much needed better gas mileage. I can get about 4-5 mpg better over stock. (That includes e3 plugs I put on it too)

They also will give you a more responsive, snappier throttle. intake + cat back exhaust will give you a significant gain in HP. More air in, more air out. Cold air kits DO work. Only the name brand systems though. Don't kid yourself with eBay kits
If you think cold air intakes don't work then do some more homework. They let more cold air in compared to the stock, restrictive airbox. Cold air is compressed air in comparison to expanded hot air.

The only thing good about the PT Loser is its driving position.
Chrysler wad trying to be like VW and offer us a new, ugly version of an old, better looking car. The problem was that the VW Beetle actually ran like a VW. The PT Loser was slow and old.
Too make my car uglier then all the other ugly pt's, I'm going to bring another half of a pt with me.
Y'all suck this is a great car, yeah it doesn't look the best but it is very cozy inside, and its not like you are going to be looking at your car when you are driving, unless you drive by your reflection, but it is still better than a Nissan Cube (look wise)
This is the worst gogomobile ever made.
Never had a problem with these cars but the photos shown here prove that in most cases modifying them makes them look worse. One exception was the Cruiser I saw that was turned into a pro street panel van with a chopped roof, V8 and candy red paint.
Also, they were not very economical. Most competitive mid size and even some full size body-on-frame SUVs did far better than the PT Cruiser on mileage per gallon.
I never heard anything about PT Losers being unsafe before this article. But they are very uncool. VERY. PT Losers.
Seeing as this was my mothers next vehicle after moving on from a mid 90's Chrysler Minivan. I was all for it since it was the lessor of two evils... I'm a little sad they didn't have Details like deaths, internal memos like the other unsafe articles
