Bentley to Green Light Falcon SUV

Official sign-off production is imminent.

So while we all knew Bentley would drop the EXP 9 F moniker used on its SUV concept at Geneva last year, with "Falcon" its most likely replacement, there hasn't been a clear indication that it would ever make it to production. Until now.
According to Automotive News Europe, Bentley CEO Wolfgang Schreiber has said the company is close to signing-off on the new SUV, albeit with heavily revised styling. Under the hood an eight-cylinder, with the option of a W-12, will power the Falcon which will be based on the same platform as the next Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne.

"The main intention was not to show the final styling but to get feedback from the market," said Schreiber at the Detroit auto show in defense of the odd-looking SUV concept. Of the production car he said: "If you saw the styling, you would say, 'That is a real Bentley.'" Here's hoping for a Continental GT Speed SUV then. Other projects awaiting approval from parent company VW include the convertible version of the Mulsanne (tipped to revive the Azure name), the Lamborghini Urus and Bugatti Galibier. The Falcon is expected to debut within the next three years.
