No more v8 :c guess its return to the v6 for the m3. I don't know about those side ducts they look a little toooo "busy" for me. I'll reserve my judgment for the M4 though cant wait for that.
If you look at the hood and the PowerDome and flanking extractors, the light appears not real. And the play on light across the hood looks disingenuous at the very least. Not real people, nothing to see so move along.

I honestly think the best looking M3 is the E92. The E46 is more fun to drive imo, but looks and power, the E92 is superior. And i understand that with the new M3 going TT on a I6 motor will produce more torque and all, im just anti turbo. Go figure.
I love the m3 but I don't know what BMW was thinking with the connecting kidney grilles and headlights.

Friend sold his S2K to buy an E92 M3, not even a yr later he sold it to get another S2K, said it wasn't as good as people said it was around a track, he also had a lot of work in his S2K... but only BMW I would ever buy is a E46 m3.. everything else they make just looks Boring to me
M3 badge in the grill should of been saved for the m4 cause the m6 has it but I don't think the m6 gc does....... Or does it? Lol fuck

Really liking this but have to agree that the E46 is the best one as well as the E36 but nonetheless this looks great and I'm sure it will still be a great drivers car

@ Justin, since this is based off of the current 3-series and the previous M3, which both came out before most of Lexus' new designs this is not a copy of Lexus

There is nothing new here either. The tradition of quad pipes almost centered that started with the E36/7 m Roadster is not done very well.

nothing out of the ordinary, thats for sure. But, it looks great. Actually better than the e90 in my opinion.
I like how a line carries from the tail light all the way to the vent on the quarter panel, creating a scallop through the doors. But I do not like the front.
@ Luke: Give the guy a break. The tail lights on the current 3, 5, 6 GC, and 7 series resemble each other quite a bit (especially at first glance).
they finally made the m3 sedan look right vs being lame compared to the coupe
i hated the looks of the E92 sedan, even as a sedan it looks much better than the E92 coupe. i cant wait to see what the M4 looks like
I know the coupe will look very similar, but was the sedan the only one that leaked?

I just hope it's manual and that it sounds as good as E92.. Maybe a bit of E46 sound!
Some people always like the previous gen, not sure why. We will hear the same when the next one gets released after few years

I just looked at the numbers of the v8 that what is the last gen M3. The I6 that's being put in the new m3 is an absolute monster. I'm glad the I6 is Back, it's going to put the last gen m3 to shame.
I never thought that the v8 belonged in the E92.
I love my N54 and in a more nimble chassis with more boost it'd be even better.

The i6 tt is def better than the v8....better power to weight and mpg. Plus I love the sound of a blow off valve!!!! What cars other than c63 amg and s5 whats its competition?
I'm actually glad they went back to the l6 because it sets it apart from the others in the segment.

Overall balance is what makes a good M car.
Shane, roots for an M3 is a high strung 4 cylinder.
My brothers old 3 series had a inline 6 and that thing could really whip around. I was surprised.
BMW was using the I6 for years before they even considered the V8, it's not downsizing it's returning to the car's roots. I6s are torquey little jokers, no complaints here
Oh man, I really do hope toyota actually tries to join with BMW to make the supra using the M3 base and engine.
Wow, I'm loving the torque. Such an improvement. That was the biggest weak point to me in the current M3. Also now that it is already turbocharged, aftermarket tuning will be cheaper and easier. I'm digging this M3.
The E92 was just an exception (as well as the M5 E60 or the old M6), BMW went back to a 6 cyl. engine, like on the E46 and the E36. Maybe someday they'll even use only 4 cylinders, just like on the E30.

Wow I'm really hating all these down sizings m6 is now a v8 n now this v8 car using a v6 I know they have more power but I'm now a big fan of the down sizing at all
