Wow I'm a man who love American muscle cars, but the "Can't believe I'm going to say this" but the GT-R did win the Drag Race series. GT-R 2 wins to Lamborghini 1 win. Facts don't lie.
Although the lambo is a beautiful and fast machine the GTR has all my love. Best bang for the buck and it's a daily driver. I drive mine every day!
Next time use a tuned unrestricted superbike with launch control, In the real world ,in town a scooter would kill the cars, All in all the Gtr is a great machine, I'd take the Lamborghini , Not as common and more vulgar haha

Tuned to just 580?...and was still able to keep up with the reventon?...wow, if it was tuned in the same aspect of the Lambo, the GTR would win that rolling start...

@Jace, the Bizzarini 6.5 V12 is what he means. They came up with a whole new engine for the Aventador. I miss it too...

The Ducatti driver sucked. Bikes own 0-30, 0-60, and lots of them the 1/4 mile (as evidenced by 136mph). Regardless, this is why you should have launch control. Not having it, is like using 2 tin cups and a string, instead of a phone.
I love the dry clutch sound at idle on the Duc at the beginning. Such unique bikes.
Preston, the Reventon also has all wheel drive. And I'm sure it's equipped with a launch control as well. The GTR's advantage was probably in weight
why didnt they get an Aventador?! AWD and launch control..woulda stroked the gtr..and why get a bike that's tapped at 180..plenty of other bikes that exceed 200..

That was kinda cool with the rolling start, but no match from a dead spot. Hahaha. All 3 were bad a$$ especially that Ducati.

Ill take the Ducati! Wouldn't take much and that pass at 180 would have never happened. Plus, it's a Ducati, and costs about $70k less than the GTR.
Supercar with a price tag of $1mil. Supercar killer with a price tag under $200k (including modifications). Car costing much less gets the most performance. Something just doesn't seem right. Is exclusivity worth that much? Much respect to the GT-R!
They really had to come up with something that could make the Lamborghini look worth it's status. I don't know how you race for fun, but I typically go from full stop side by side. That's the most challenging IMO.
The GT-R has an awesome acceleration, so I think it isn't so unfair to race it against the Reventon.
Yea that doesn't look like a 2013, or even 2012 gtr. They should re-race using a 13'
People the GTR wasn't made for drag races much less geared for that, so give it that and stop being butthurt
Really like it when they go from a rolling start. Thats how it will be on a street. Just imagine how fast an Aventador is compared to a stock GT-R (550hp)

A Nissan Z does not handle better then a gtr, that's just crazy talk to even think Nissan would have a lower model car handle better then there top performance model
Yup some extensive chassis adjustments are needed, to sustain to increase in power.
I don't see how they will make a Streetfighter from the 1199 now since there is no chassis. It is horrendous naked but gorgeous with the fairings on and an engineering masterpiece.
Only reason I wouldn't get the street fighter is cause my current bike is a naked one, I love the looks and still love riding it but long trips are annoying without the wind protection... but then street fighter just looks so damn good
Yeah as long as your strict on the maintenece that last along time, that maintenance becomes very expensive when u ride all the time cause your racking mile... like I said if it was a strict track bike or if I had the spare money I would get a panigali or the street fighter in a heart beat
Nock, not in the US. I had the SF locked down, and I was quoted those prices from 3 different dealerships. I ran away. One Duc 7500 mile service price will cover oil, filter, tires, chain, sprockets, an Outback Steakhouse trip, and $300 leftover.
Nick if I had the money or wanted a track only bike I would get a ducati, but there not as reliable as the others and parts cast a lot more, I wanna ride my bike everyday and not have to worry about it, I've already clocked well over 8k on my brand new bike, 0 problems... everyone I know that owned a duc said it was the best bike they had till it came to fixing something, cost of ownership is why...
@Nick thats the problem tho. You have to goto the "stealership" for parts n labor. I tune my Suzuki in my garage. Parts are easy to find too.

MotoGP/WSBK/AMA is one thing, stock/lightly modded street bikes are another thing. MGP is purpose built. SBK probably might use a couple other pieces than the frame and with the closest thing to the street bike is AMA. They take a $13k and spend
Yet with all that it still was the top performing bike in the last season of moto go, besides Yamaha have always been low on power and a little heavier but it not that huge of a difference between it and its competition, nothing a decent rider can't make up for, r1 is still one of the best track bikes u can buy today
I respect everyone's views, but the R1, at least in its major update in 2009 has been lackluster. It's overweight, it's down on power compared to the competition, and the MPG is down roughly 15-25% compared to a majority of the other bikes.
This is the Ferrari of motorcycles. It's got the looks, performance, exclusivity, and lets not forget insanely high cost of maintenance.
Crossplane is a monster engine, all the benefits of an inline 4 and a v-twin in one motor, monster torque down low, smooth top end power with a very large rpm range, I keep wanting to put one in my FZ8, swap the forks for some r1 and I have a naked r1 for a lot less

I almost bought a 2012 Streetfighter 1098S. Every 7500 miles, that's an interval, at $1000-$1500 a pop. Opted for the Gix1.

I would buy an r1 before a duc... just because the duc is like sitting on a 2x4 and maintenece cost are crazy.. but if I was buying a bike just for track 1198 would deffinatly be my choice
