Shelby GT500 Widebody by Galpin

The Ford tuning specialist reveals a new aftermarket program for the GT500.

Designed and customized by Galpin Auto Sports (GAS), the Shelby GT500 "wide-body" was first displayed at Quail Lodge Motor Sports Gathering during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It features hand-crafted sheet-metal, widening the body by nine inches, and sealed rear quarter windows. The car's chosen color is Aston Martin Morning Frost Pearl White with cobalt blue racing stripes, while the custom three-piece alloys are the work of Forgiato.

Inside, custom Crimson Red leather adorns the cabin and trunk, and banging beats come courtesy of a 1,000-watt 7-Channel audio system by McIntosh. GAS also made some performance and handling upgrades in the form of a Ford Racing/Shelby supercharger that boosts output of the 5.8-liter V8 from 650 to 750 horsepower, Shelby 6-piston front and rear brakes, a Magnaflow quad exhaust, and Ford Racing performance suspension.
