Description: Mercedes-Benz recently revealed a facelift for the E-Class sedan and wagon, but that's only half the story. One the CLK was discontinued, Mercedes integrated new two-doors into the C- and E-Class...Add Comments9
AgungWah ParintosaJan 08, 2013 Blahhh...they've ruined one of the best looking coupe has ever created. Don't change something already perfect. Thumbs down!
Bala UnccJan 05, 2013 Love the latest E sedan and coupe. Looks way more stylish that previous gen.
John SerelyJan 05, 2013 @will I like everything besides the headlights, I don't find the rectangular shape attractive. I liked the previous gen much more, with it rounded quad headlights
Serge PankratovJan 05, 2013 Too bad Merc doesnt offer a manual transmission. I woulda had myself a couple different ones, but because of that I most likely will bever own one
Serge PankratovJan 05, 2013 Agreed. The oval and round headlights of the precious E-Class were not appealing to me at all. Current E-Class is the way to go for me especially the 63 AMG
Brendan CrawfordJan 05, 2013 I think that the E63 AMG is one of their best cars.
Will WillJan 05, 2013 @ john You find the current (2012) e class ugly???!!! I guess our tastes are completely different then.
John SerelyJan 05, 2013 @will no, they destroyed the most ugly merc sedan ever, and replaced it with the beauty
Will WillJan 05, 2013 And after destroying the most beautiful mercedes sedan ever created , they went on with the coupe and created this abomination.
Toby KesslerJan 05, 2013 Thank god they changed the headlights!
Carlton SalmonJan 05, 2013 Why didn't they get rid of those awkward drooping creases over the rear arches like they have on the revised E-Class saloon?
Jon AshleyJan 05, 2013 I like this. Agressive and modern.
Serge PankratovJan 05, 2013 Damn they got rid of the two square hieadlights ALREADY?! That wad my fav E-Class of all time! :-(
Drew HumphreyJan 05, 2013 Sort-of a girls car in cabrio form
Vinny CoppolaJan 05, 2013 I don't like any of the new Mercedes at all,The only one that looks ok is the CLS. They lost the elegance big time and are looking too much like a Lexus. I miss the signature round/peanut lights.....
John SerelyJan 05, 2013 Oh yea, I also wish merc would have gone with a folding hardtop. I really love the benefits of them (security, looks better, less unwanted noise etc).
David JusticeJan 05, 2013 Those two pointy things in the lower front fascia stick out to me.
John SerelyJan 05, 2013 I really like it, but I'd never buy an E convertible, certainly the sedan or coupe, though
Will WillJan 05, 2013 Sporty that this facelifted one, although the designers clearly intended otherwise and although the current one also looks elegant at the same time.
Will WillJan 05, 2013 And besides, those rounded off air intakes( or whatever you call those big holes below the headlights and grille) just make the car look too soft. In fact, because of those rounded off intakes, i dare say that the current e coupe actually looks more
Will WillJan 05, 2013 Headlights because the new ones look absolutely hideous.
Will WillJan 05, 2013 I really hate all these new e class facelifts. They just take out all the elegance and refinement that the e class used to possess. I know the e coupe is meant to look a bit less elegant and a bit more sporty, but couldnt they at least keep the quad
Darryle MoodyJan 05, 2013 The fender flares still look out of place here. Daimler has stated they like them but they are out of place in this application. Something more elegant was needed here.
Adithya ChandrasekharJan 05, 2013 I don't like the swoop line over the the rear wheels. Screws up the side profile
Kyle McCulloughJan 05, 2013 Agreed. Looks much more modern than the past generation. That badge should be a little smaller though
Carter SullivanJan 05, 2013 Honestly the only part I don't like is the massive Mercedes badge
King RichJan 05, 2013 Much more well thought out than the previous model
Description: That translates to new headlights that ditch the quadruple individual elements in favor of two integrated lenses flanking a reshaped grille and topping a more aggressive lower fascia. The rear end has...Add Comments3
Mark Fei LingJan 05, 2013 AMG will have floor shifter. They do this because u can have two cup holder in right place( at least they think so)
John SerelyJan 05, 2013 @josiah I actually do not mind them. On a DD, they are fine, but given the choice, I'd rather have a normal one
Josiah Thomas ClementsJan 05, 2013 I hate column mounted shifters. They make the car feel old IMO.

John SerelyJan 05, 2013 Alright. That sounds good, I'll check it out
Zachary MaurerJan 05, 2013 @john, ya it's nice, I'm pretty sure tony is an admin, I don't post any comments, but a lot of carbuzzers do, you should "like" it in Facebook, it's not like articles, but more like pics with captions, it's cool though
Patrick SchalkJan 05, 2013 Quite a few of us are in it. It's mostly just posting pics and having discussions minus the trolls.
John SerelyJan 05, 2013 @zachary I've heard about that "car people are awesome" thing on Facebook. I'm not a big Facebook guy, so can you tell me what it's about? I might join it, how many guys are on it?
Zachary MaurerJan 05, 2013 @john, Patrick is posting more, but besides that a lot have moved to car people are awesome on facebook.
John SerelyJan 05, 2013 @zachary that's good to here. Are all the regular guys still on here?
Zachary MaurerJan 05, 2013 @john, about you being back, things haven't changed much, you missed a couple if trollers, but that's it
Jordan SmithJan 05, 2013 Yeah I'd really like to see a new CLK AMG. That'd be sweet.
Mark Fei LingJan 07, 2013 @Danny, I'm not here to argue about history and numbers, both brand are good cars. I just tired of people saying this looks like that or sth. It's happens every time new cars come out
Mark Fei LingJan 07, 2013 @Danny, BMW are good car's,but for a brand that claiming hard core performance driver's car, this is bit shame.
Mark Fei LingJan 07, 2013 @Danny, for racing, I do mention "big titles". The last and "only" Le Mans win is back in 1999 for BMW. For F1, there are none. Luckily, BMW do have it's first DTM winning this year.
Mark Fei LingJan 07, 2013 @Danny, I do made mistake by using 2010 data. It's true that BMW surplus BENZ without sibling brand in 2011 fiscal year.
Lucas HillJan 06, 2013 Finally. The un lifted e class was hideous
Danny M. WongJan 05, 2013 @ Mark Fei Ling:

Enough said...
Danny M. WongJan 05, 2013 @ CarBuzz:
The BMW 6-Series Coupe competes with the Benz CL, not the E Coupe.
Danny M. WongJan 05, 2013 @ Mark Fei Ling again:
BMW set the benchmark with the 3-Series. 22 consecutive years on Car & Driver's Top 10 list. Everyone is still playing catch up. And did I really just read you say that BMW didn't win any racing titles? Wow...
Danny M. WongJan 05, 2013 @ Mark Fei Ling:
Get your facts straight before you post. Mercedes lost the sales crown to BMW and yes, Mini helped, but take away Mini and BMW would still be ahead because Mercedes sales rely too heavy on Sprinters.
Jacob BurfordJan 05, 2013 @Megan Have you seen the CLS! Now I do like the design of many BMW's, but Mercedes does also make nice looking vehicles!
Jacob BurfordJan 05, 2013 Like this design a lot more on the coupe than the new E-Class sedan!
Mark Fei LingJan 05, 2013 And the only reason they surpass Mercedes on sales number is because of MINI.
Mark Fei LingJan 05, 2013 BMW have some sales because they starting put money on small luxury cars(3 series) earlier than others( because back in the day they are small company on cars), and, also the performance part( which BMW really don't wins any racings on big titles) .
Mark Fei LingJan 05, 2013 BMW got right on designing a car?! That's good joke! U put that kidney grill on any car, it will instantly turning any car into a joke! We just get used to see that on bimmer as BMW. And I don't think 3,5,7 share almost same design is a great job!
Megan MoodyJan 05, 2013 BMW is way ahead design wise. Mercedes is blending Hyundai, vw beetle, new impala even... here. They are a little lost design wise. Somehow it still sells which I can't figure out. Obama got reelected to so that says everything.
Janak SolankiJan 05, 2013 Those are some huge air intakes
David MunasingheJan 05, 2013 Looks lot better with the new head lights.
Mark Fei LingJan 05, 2013 Hahaha, BMW and Audi are all Russian Matryoshka dolls.... How can u say that is better design? ( except R8, A7,6series)
Anthony RulloJan 05, 2013 I believe the competitors are the boring ones compared to this new design. It strikes out as a bolder statement and gets away with it quite nicely I think
John SerelyJan 05, 2013 I like it, but its competitors are just more appealing
Justin HarrisJan 05, 2013 Mercedes really needs to step up the design. They just look so average and expected to me compared to Audi and BMW.
Adam BeiersdorferJan 05, 2013 I like Benz, but this new design language just isn't speaking to me very much...
Eric ChauJan 05, 2013 Because you can't see that rear wheel arch and that ugly rear end. At least they fixed the front. I loved eclass I had the w210 & w211 but could not get myself to buy this gen, w212
Connor ScanlonJan 06, 2013 I was kinda hoping they changed the rear end more.
Shaniqua LatishaJan 05, 2013 I think it looks like a mercedes benz e class not any other car
Raven KhouryJan 05, 2013 Agree, looks like lexus btw..
Raven KhouryJan 05, 2013 Rear lights could be designed better...
Ian BargerJan 05, 2013 Trust me, Mercedes would not look at a crap Toyota and say wow that looks good, lets copy it. This doesnt look like a Toyota at all
Mark Fei LingJan 05, 2013 I see they killed muscle line that above the rear wheel in new sedan, but somehow they decide to leave it on coupe....
Carlton SalmonJan 06, 2013 @ Mark Fei Ling. The car does have LED daytime running lights. If you look closely you can see them integrated into the headlight design running diagonally.
Chris FitzJan 06, 2013 Who ever says the older one looks better is CRAZY!!!...I don't even like the E-Class, and I'm digging this front end design..
Mark Fei LingJan 05, 2013 That is to protect the radar gun inside for distronic system. Merc have this since 1999 if u have this option
Megan MoodyJan 05, 2013 I don't like what they did to the emblem. It's like a big plate where before air could go around it. Cost cutting no doubt.
Mark Fei LingJan 05, 2013 I think they should have more sexy side mirrors
Chris FitzJan 06, 2013 Beautiful front, still doodie out back tho....BMW it is
Will RidgwayJan 05, 2013 Mostly the inside of how the taillights are made up.
Will RidgwayJan 05, 2013 To be honest I'm seeing a little Lexus here too
Mark Fei LingJan 05, 2013 What is Lexus design? Can u tell? They have no traditional design language, so how can u tell something is Lexus when Lexus don't even know where they really are?
Connor ScanlonJan 06, 2013 You kinda need something like that in a convertible. But I agree it looks cheap
Jack PorteousJan 06, 2013 Totally agree on the poor color combo. Did anybody notice the tacky fishnet pocket attached to the passenger footwell?
Jacob BurfordJan 05, 2013 Nice interior, but not fan of the color combinations in this picture!
Jacob LerklintJan 05, 2013 @phillip. Where Did you get that info from?
Jacob LerklintJan 05, 2013 There is column shifter, the paddles are just if you want to go sporty and change gear manually
Phillip B JongJan 05, 2013 Guys chill. There's no column shifter. The car starts in park then the (+) paddle shifter puts it in neutral, click again for drive. Alternatively, the (-) paddle shifter puts it in reverse.
Elias HarbJan 05, 2013 Yea but it's still considered sporty so it should have the floor shifter
Mark Fei LingJan 05, 2013 If u wanna floor shifter, u can always have AMG. For general buyer of this car, more useful space and right position cup holder would be a must
Jordan SmithJan 05, 2013 I feel like column mounted gear shifters should be for trucks and SUVs. Not coupes and sedans.
Ian RagsdaleJan 05, 2013 So the octogenarians that trade in their Oldsmobile for this can find the gear lever.
Rob ClarkJan 05, 2013 Why would they column mount the shifter!?
Chris GainesJan 05, 2013 column mounted shifters remind me of old minivans...
Varun SudhakarJan 05, 2013 this interior is pretty good
with the air conditioned seats and all
Jacob LerklintJan 05, 2013 This is the worst color combo I've ever seen
Will WillJan 05, 2013 At least the interior still pleases me.
Jack PorteousJan 06, 2013 Mercedes needs to be more innovative in the tones and shapes of their interiors. Don't make the same solid business suit- make a magazine cover worthy suit.
Blahhh...they've ruined one of the best looking coupe has ever created. Don't change something already perfect. Thumbs down!
Love the latest E sedan and coupe. Looks way more stylish that previous gen.
