Why didn't they get rid of those awkward drooping creases over the rear arches like they have on the revised E-Class saloon?
Damn they got rid of the two square hieadlights ALREADY?! That wad my fav E-Class of all time! :-(
I don't like any of the new Mercedes at all,The only one that looks ok is the CLS. They lost the elegance big time and are looking too much like a Lexus. I miss the signature round/peanut lights.....
Oh yea, I also wish merc would have gone with a folding hardtop. I really love the benefits of them (security, looks better, less unwanted noise etc).
I really like it, but I'd never buy an E convertible, certainly the sedan or coupe, though
Sporty that this facelifted one, although the designers clearly intended otherwise and although the current one also looks elegant at the same time.
And besides, those rounded off air intakes( or whatever you call those big holes below the headlights and grille) just make the car look too soft. In fact, because of those rounded off intakes, i dare say that the current e coupe actually looks more
I really hate all these new e class facelifts. They just take out all the elegance and refinement that the e class used to possess. I know the e coupe is meant to look a bit less elegant and a bit more sporty, but couldnt they at least keep the quad
The fender flares still look out of place here. Daimler has stated they like them but they are out of place in this application. Something more elegant was needed here.

AMG will have floor shifter. They do this because u can have two cup holder in right place( at least they think so)

@Danny, BMW are good car's,but for a brand that claiming hard core performance driver's car, this is bit shame.
@Danny, for racing, I do mention "big titles". The last and "only" Le Mans win is back in 1999 for BMW. For F1, there are none. Luckily, BMW do have it's first DTM winning this year.

@ Mark Fei Ling: Get your facts straight before you post. Mercedes lost the sales crown to BMW and yes, Mini helped, but take away Mini and BMW would still be ahead because Mercedes sales rely too heavy on Sprinters.
@Megan Have you seen the CLS! Now I do like the design of many BMW's, but Mercedes does also make nice looking vehicles!
And the only reason they surpass Mercedes on sales number is because of MINI.
BMW have some sales because they starting put money on small luxury cars(3 series) earlier than others( because back in the day they are small company on cars), and, also the performance part( which BMW really don't wins any racings on big titles) .
BMW got right on designing a car?! That's good joke! U put that kidney grill on any car, it will instantly turning any car into a joke! We just get used to see that on bimmer as BMW. And I don't think 3,5,7 share almost same design is a great job!
BMW is way ahead design wise. Mercedes is blending Hyundai, vw beetle, new impala even... here. They are a little lost design wise. Somehow it still sells which I can't figure out. Obama got reelected to so that says everything.

I believe the competitors are the boring ones compared to this new design. It strikes out as a bolder statement and gets away with it quite nicely I think
Mercedes really needs to step up the design. They just look so average and expected to me compared to Audi and BMW.
I like Benz, but this new design language just isn't speaking to me very much...

I see they killed muscle line that above the rear wheel in new sedan, but somehow they decide to leave it on coupe....

@ Mark Fei Ling. The car does have LED daytime running lights. If you look closely you can see them integrated into the headlight design running diagonally.
Who ever says the older one looks better is CRAZY!!!...I don't even like the E-Class, and I'm digging this front end design..
That is to protect the radar gun inside for distronic system. Merc have this since 1999 if u have this option
I don't like what they did to the emblem. It's like a big plate where before air could go around it. Cost cutting no doubt.
What is Lexus design? Can u tell? They have no traditional design language, so how can u tell something is Lexus when Lexus don't even know where they really are?

There is column shifter, the paddles are just if you want to go sporty and change gear manually
Guys chill. There's no column shifter. The car starts in park then the (+) paddle shifter puts it in neutral, click again for drive. Alternatively, the (-) paddle shifter puts it in reverse.
If u wanna floor shifter, u can always have AMG. For general buyer of this car, more useful space and right position cup holder would be a must
I feel like column mounted gear shifters should be for trucks and SUVs. Not coupes and sedans.
So the octogenarians that trade in their Oldsmobile for this can find the gear lever.
Mercedes needs to be more innovative in the tones and shapes of their interiors. Don't make the same solid business suit- make a magazine cover worthy suit.

@will I like everything besides the headlights, I don't find the rectangular shape attractive. I liked the previous gen much more, with it rounded quad headlights
Too bad Merc doesnt offer a manual transmission. I woulda had myself a couple different ones, but because of that I most likely will bever own one
Agreed. The oval and round headlights of the precious E-Class were not appealing to me at all. Current E-Class is the way to go for me especially the 63 AMG
I think that the E63 AMG is one of their best cars.
