@David. 100% true. 10-15k in mods to a fox body is almost a guaranteed 9 second car with a halfway decent driver. Unbelievable potential with them.

Noah, how does this not look like a mustang of its time? 93' was the last year of the fox body Stang. This was unveiled in 93' and looks a lot like a 94' mustang. I'd say the 94' mustang got a lot of its design from this concept.
This concept sucked, even for the time...I saw this in person and as a kid thought it was horrible.

I love ferrari its one of my favorite carmakers but i cant justify an extra 200k for a little nicer interior, engine that makes 2500rmp more but makes WAY less torque and is gonna be in the shop less, all for some exclusitivity. Oh and no manual -.-

@Robert. The Mclaren F1 only had 630 or something and that went even faster.
It's not all power. Weight, aero, and mostly gearing play into top speed. 720 is a hell of a lot of power
40mph top speed..! Remember seeing this on topgear back in the 90's it could only do 4ph and the wheel came off during filming

@jesse that would be a great idea, but Ford doesnt want to step their game up they play it safe. i imagine if someone younger was in charge of ford motors they might renew interest in the project.

The indigo debuted in 1996, the prowler came out in 1997. So it's not prowler inspired. The prowler and indigo look similar because they are modern roadsters. It's like 2 sedans looking alike because they have 4 doors.

This would have brought the cobra back to its former glory if this came in production. This car would have been raceing against Lamborghini and farrari, with it's lightweight chase, v10 and it's bite. This would of shown how farrari is not as strong as the thought they were ,like in the 60s when the cobra were beating farrari at its own game

Carroll chose the Aurora based v8, not Alero, because of it's potential. Ford and GM had no say in the Series 1.
@David..you got it part right..this is a collab with Ford. now to where you are wrong, the Series 1 wasn't a "GM thing". The Series 1 was built in-house at Shelby American..
Watched this get made on that car show Jason Priestly used to host. The cars name is Daisy. I absolutely love this thing.
I would've much preferred this over the Series 1 though. This looks way meaner.
Besides, this was a ford collaboration and the Series 1 was more of a GM thing. It had an S/C Oldsmobile alero drivetrain. That would've been bad for the Shelby name. GM and Ford competing for the same name.
This wouldn't have sold too well. The Shelby Series 1 looked very similar to this. They both had the Shelby name. The series 1 was produced from 98-05. This came out in 04. So they couldn't be sold at the same time.
This would a been and epic step for ford to have Revived the Shelby cobra, Ford should of known better..
