More gears are to come. Hyundai and BMW have been working on 10 speed and even up to 12 speed transmissions. Stricter EPA laws are forcing manufactures to squeeze more mileage out of every component of a vehicle.

Agree Matt! This is extremely sharp looking, and an overall great SUV! I've driven it and it feels like a car on the road but still has the capability of a proper land rover!

I like the evoque, and I do helped my friend to buy one. But the top line model of evoque is somewhere in the territory of ML and X5, no to mention its more than a GLK,X3 and Q5.

At just under 70mph (110kph) revving at 1.8k revs! My 6speed 5 series does that?? What's the point then of anything over 8-speed? 9 getting ridiculous... Until someone make 10, 11, 12..... Lol
