Love my Fiesta, got it when I was 18 (19 now). I'm not saying its the best at anything (maybe it is, maybe it isn't), but I love it for one simple reason: it's a cheap everyday car that WILL put a smile on your face. Simple as that.

youre stupid any 964 carrera 2 isnt worth more than 25,000 unless it has <50,000 miles and 70s and 80's 911s are also in the 12,000-25,000 range, less expensive then 964 which is what i want, also 996 base models go for around 20,000 and they have some low mileage ones going for 20 still

I had a 92 Honda civic dx with like 60hp for my first car. F'ing loved it. Got like 45 mpg.

@David. My little brother just turned 17 Feb 7th and he has been driving an 08 Bullit package Mustang with right around 540 RWHP. Granted, my first car was an 02 Tbird though, so he is lucky.
I own a 2007 corolla since i am 16, I am 18 now and still love that car, not fast at all, but good mpg and equipment. It is great for Mexico City streets
Tyler, you're just that lucky 1 in 100 kid lol. Back when y GF was in Highschool, there was a kid that drove a Maserati every now and then. But pretty much every kid at her school had a brand new car.
Because first cars are not meant to have loads of HP. Would you put 300+ HP in the hands of your 16 yr old son or daughter. Granted, as a kid you want more hp. But as a parent it'd be a bad call.
Why pay that much for a first car when you could get a slightly older more powerful car for cheaper?

@Thai-Chau Ha the styling was done by the same guy that did modern Astons, and any Aston Martin you see today (minus the Cygnet) is as "Aston Ford", because the V12 is based on Ford V6 tech when Ford still owned Aston.

I would honestly take a Fiesta ST in a heartbeat. I'm sure it's a blast to drive and its very practical, not to mention fairly inexpensive.

I like the new look, definitely an improvement over the Aveo (tho that's not saying much), but recently talked with someone who had one for several years and said it was terrible. Said the ride, handling, power, equipment were all crap. He said he liked the way the interior looked tho lol
I mean, you'd be nuts to get a 21k sonic, but 16k for the base one ain't bad.
There are a lot of decent cars for $21k don't know why you would end with one these.

I have a 1.4 turbo. My first car. Its slow, but its a whole lot of fun to drive, and as far as hatches go, it looks pretty good. Call me biased, but its a great first car.

These are great. Better still are the pre-09 models. Although, I must admit the sky active engines can really save some dough at the pump. My brother has one and his average combined mpg is around 32.
These are such fun cars to drive, even the base 2.0 engine has some good pep to it.

I've driven 2 of these, a base model with 2.0 4-banger and a "Rallye" with the 1.4 Turbo. Liked both a lot, the 1.4 turbo especially. Quick, comfortable, roomy, good to drive. The dash is horribly confusing and it had a MILLION buttons on the steering wheel, none of which I could figure out. In terms of "fun", I'd still take a Focus or Mazda3 in this class, but this is still a fun car.

This would be my choice. If they come out with an srt awd, tuners everywhere will want to get their hands on it. Even the price of a fully loaded dart is pretty reasonable.
A lot of stuff is standard for 16k. It's a great car, albeit not super fast, but 160 or 180 is plenty for a car like this.

Jake get your info correct, they haven't been lying about there mpg, they gave the wrong info just like ford did, was a misunderstanding of the cafe rating system, they didn't fight the lawsuits they Payed and even offered to buy the cars back
If you've been keeping up with the brand lately, CB, you'd know that Kia has been lying about their MPG. Sorry, but that just ruins the brand's credibility for me. I didn't like before, and I'm sure not gonna buy one now. Not to mention it's absolutely HIDEOUS.

The Kia Soul absolutely does NOT look better than an xb, Element, or Cube. From the front, the Soul looks like an angry rat, and should be smashed with a baseball bat
Why don't the hamsters get any love? I had a Soul for 2 years and its quite a practical vehicle. Lots of room for 4 and tons of tech features for under 18K.

A 2 door sports is not right for a 16 year old. They are irresponsible, the impreza, base civic, toyota corolla are good cars for a 16 year old. Not a civic Si, WRX, RSX-S. nothing performance oriented.
