Alfa to Debut Giulietta Veloce in Geneva

Veloce version of Giulietta gets special trim to debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
When the doors open at the Geneva Motor Show next week, Alfa Romeo will be presenting the production version of the 4C sportscar which buyers around the world – in North America included – have been eagerly awaiting. But the 4C won’t be the only new Alfa on display. Although much less exciting than the aforementioned sportscar, the Italian automaker will also be unveiling a new version of the Giulietta five-door hatchback that is its bread and butter – or garlic-laced olive oil, anyway.

Reviving the Veloce name that has been part of Alfa lore for decades, this special-edition Giulietta is mostly a trim package. It includes special titanium-finished 17-inch alloys and mirror housings, black-trimmed headlights and chrome door handles, plus an interior with similar titanium-finish trim and red stitching. Setting it apart (from above, anyway) will be a matte grey or gloss black roof to contrast with the black, white, grey, red or burgundy paint, with the requisite special badges thrown into the mix. Buyers will be able to specify the Giulietta Veloce with any of a variety of engines, including the 4C's 235hp 1.7-liter turbo four. (White model included for illustrative purposes.)
