Published: Feb 28, 2013
Description: Christian Von Koenigsegg set no specific goals when he started to build his own engine. He simply wanted to create the best, most extreme engine possible. After years of testing and refinement, the l...

Woops it's 324kg
Ben August Mar 02, 2013
For comparison, the previous gen Viper had a 298 kg motor (716lbs).
Redge Diakité Mar 01, 2013
@Trey Well I can maybe answer your question maybe the owners of Agera want to test 920hp before to see if they CAN handle it and after try 1200hp ;)
Trey Villarreal Mar 01, 2013
@Chris: That makes more sense, and considering if that may be the case, then why continue its production? Are they still making sales from it and that's why they're keeping it? My question at this point goes to the consumer: Why would you buy an Agera over an Agera R?
Trey Villarreal Mar 01, 2013
@Justin: Then what is the purpose of having any vehicle's hp existing above your standard 100-300hp economy vehicle? Would anything above be usable either? Sports cars aren't supposed to be utilitarian, they are built because people want speed, power, and/or status and that's it.
Chris Gaines Feb 28, 2013
the agera came out before the r, and that took a lot of energy and resources to develop. maybe koenigsegg put out a finished product, but then continued to refine it until the R was born? makes sense
Justin Routh Feb 28, 2013
What more can you do with 1200hp than you can with 900 or whatever the agera has? Realistically that extra amount isnt gonna be that usable on the street
Trey Villarreal Feb 28, 2013
Then again, if you're blowing over a million on a sports car then its likely you're looking for the best of the best, so just have the Agera R... Where's the logic in budgeting an already enormously expensive car (built and purchased for speed/status) at second best?
Trey Villarreal Feb 28, 2013
If they're spending 1mil+ and avoiding power, they may wanna look at a manufacturer that isn't responsible for creating some of the most powerful sports cars.
Justin Routh Feb 28, 2013
Maybe they dont want or need the extra power i dunno
Trey Villarreal Feb 28, 2013
I really don't see why the standard Agera exists. "I can afford the regular Agera for 1.4 million but 1.6 million for the R? Noooo way that's too expensive for my budget, I think I'll settle for second best at this tier of cars" -Anyone who can afford an Agera
Adam Thomson Mar 03, 2013
@Brittany in your opinion yes, but in my opinion no.
Mike Puno Mar 01, 2013
In a decade or two, this design would still be relevant. Timeless.
Noah Roberts Mar 01, 2013
This car has such a bold design
Matt Piccolo Feb 28, 2013
Absolutely stunning
Jacob Burford Feb 28, 2013
So freakin gorgeous!
Justin Routh Feb 28, 2013
Yeah i agree the Pagani is just insane handling wise. I would have the agera though i think its the most beautiful car right now
Pablo Herasme Feb 28, 2013
This is something to strive for.... Amazing dare I say Perfection
Austin Sullivan Feb 28, 2013
Doesn't* bleh.
Austin Sullivan Feb 28, 2013
I love them both, but if it came down to it Koenigsegg is better. They develop all of their technology in-house, making huge innovations and designing and amazing looking car. Pagani makes a beautiful car, but don't have the same engineering finesse.
Brittany Sawyer Feb 28, 2013
No adam, its the other way around
Adam Thomson Feb 28, 2013
Koenigsegg is much better than Pagani!!
Brandon Hamilton Feb 28, 2013
I agree that a car can't get any perfect. This is beautiful and the craftsmanship that goes in is amazing. The red Agera is my favourite
Dylan Bruder Feb 28, 2013
I love these
Redge Diakité Feb 28, 2013
One of the 2 best hypercars company ( Pagani and Koenigsegg)
Paul Dickey Feb 28, 2013
I like the grey with blue stripes.
Wyatt Gordon Feb 28, 2013
I love this red one. This, the matte blue one and the white with blue and red stripes are the 3 best Agera's in my opinion.
William Downs Feb 28, 2013
100% agree with that, koenigsegg to me is the best company out there, so much innovation in such a short time from such a small company, I can't imagine the car that replaces the Agera
Brittany Sawyer Feb 28, 2013
Any more perfect*
Brittany Sawyer Feb 28, 2013
A car cant get any perfect than this
Description: But what’s most fascinating is that Koenigsegg is proving the combustion engine has a long way to go. Its hypercar technology maximizes performance and minimizes emissions. If this trickled down to sm...

To be fair, there are already turbos for 1200-1400 CC motors, with boosts ranging from 10LB to 30LB, that increase baseline power by 170-310HP alone. Now add that to baseline, at the highest boost = 190HP+310HP=500HP And people do run these, $3500
Daniel Alexander Soutar Mar 02, 2013
1.3 three-cylinder with 300hp? Yes please...
Asad Yusufzai Mar 02, 2013
This company is doing for cars what Microsoft did for computers I'n the 90's Just getting better and better Love the ICE Respect
Dehong Liu Mar 01, 2013
When goes down to 1.3 litter, the engine will not make 300 without boosting
Jacob Burford Feb 28, 2013
Gotta love the Sweds!
Brittany Sawyer Feb 28, 2013
I love their philosophy
Ashton Summers Feb 28, 2013
Would be awesome if he sold this as a crate engine.
Pablo Herasme Feb 28, 2013
This is great technology. We won't have to keep downsizing engines if this tracks down to other cars
Jason Johnson Feb 28, 2013
I'm in love! Holy crap! I have waited years to see a car company push and push and see how far they can go! Simple awesome!
David Gray Feb 28, 2013
I loved the sound of the V8 when it was just a little V4......
Brandon Hamilton Feb 28, 2013
I love the sound of the V8
Redge Diakité Feb 28, 2013
That V8's sound so MEEEEAAAAANNN IT GROWLS ROARS just perfect
Redge Diakité Feb 28, 2013
@Ryan too bad I loved it before he was born :p
Ryan Faber Feb 28, 2013
too bad I loved them before they became a car company....!
Rico Turner Feb 28, 2013
Totally agree with Justin.
David Gray Feb 28, 2013
I loved Koenigsegg before all of you so there.
Justin Routh Feb 28, 2013
This guy is a fucking genuis. With every one of these videos i love koenigsegg even more
Andrew McNeal Mar 01, 2013
@Bill, before 1913 in the US, the govt gave you a license plate number and you had to make the actual license plate yourself. A carbon fiber license plate would have been legal then, dunno about now.
Jacob Burford Feb 28, 2013
Only place anyone will ever see one from on the road!
Clinton Burger Feb 28, 2013
No point in not..
Bill Estep Jr Feb 28, 2013
Wonder if they make carbon fiber license plates lol JK
Noah Roberts Mar 01, 2013
I'd rather have the blue accents in red
Jacob Burford Feb 28, 2013
I'm drooling!
Barrathan Augustine Feb 28, 2013
My favorite car :)
Felix Rhett Feb 28, 2013
My vote goes to either the BLT edition or the "flash green" agera that resembles the limited paint option of the 2004 Volvo s60/v70 R. The latter being extremely difficult to find pictures of, but I think exists somewhere on koenigsegg's website.
Peter Mark Gacek Feb 28, 2013
I say just lose the stripes in any color, and this car is purrrrfect. I can't wait to visit Sweden next year...
William Downs Feb 28, 2013
This is a great color but I think white with those blue stripes is the Ageras best look
Brittany Sawyer Feb 28, 2013
Mi favorite ever

matthew barrett Feb 28, 2013
I agree, hethe curved windshield doesn't look right at this angle
Ryan Faber Feb 28, 2013
ehhhh... this is the first time i have not loved the look of this car... weird angle
William Downs Feb 28, 2013
That's cause the red one is an Agera R and this is just the normal agera
Oleg Odessit Feb 28, 2013
I like the wing on the red one more
