Description: Christian Von Koenigsegg set no specific goals when he started to build his own engine. He simply wanted to create the best, most extreme engine possible. After years of testing and refinement, the l...Add Comments11
Ben AugustMar 02, 2013 For comparison, the previous gen Viper had a 298 kg motor (716lbs).
Redge DiakitéMar 01, 2013 @Trey Well I can maybe answer your question maybe the owners of Agera want to test 920hp before to see if they CAN handle it and after try 1200hp ;)
Trey VillarrealMar 01, 2013 @Chris: That makes more sense, and considering if that may be the case, then why continue its production? Are they still making sales from it and that's why they're keeping it? My question at this point goes to the consumer: Why would you buy an Agera over an Agera R?
Trey VillarrealMar 01, 2013 @Justin: Then what is the purpose of having any vehicle's hp existing above your standard 100-300hp economy vehicle? Would anything above be usable either? Sports cars aren't supposed to be utilitarian, they are built because people want speed, power, and/or status and that's it.
Chris GainesFeb 28, 2013 the agera came out before the r, and that took a lot of energy and resources to develop. maybe koenigsegg put out a finished product, but then continued to refine it until the R was born? makes sense
Justin RouthFeb 28, 2013 What more can you do with 1200hp than you can with 900 or whatever the agera has? Realistically that extra amount isnt gonna be that usable on the street
Trey VillarrealFeb 28, 2013 Then again, if you're blowing over a million on a sports car then its likely you're looking for the best of the best, so just have the Agera R... Where's the logic in budgeting an already enormously expensive car (built and purchased for speed/status) at second best?
Trey VillarrealFeb 28, 2013 If they're spending 1mil+ and avoiding power, they may wanna look at a manufacturer that isn't responsible for creating some of the most powerful sports cars.
Justin RouthFeb 28, 2013 Maybe they dont want or need the extra power i dunno
Trey VillarrealFeb 28, 2013 I really don't see why the standard Agera exists. "I can afford the regular Agera for 1.4 million but 1.6 million for the R? Noooo way that's too expensive for my budget, I think I'll settle for second best at this tier of cars" -Anyone who can afford an Agera
Justin RouthFeb 28, 2013 Yeah i agree the Pagani is just insane handling wise. I would have the agera though i think its the most beautiful car right now
Pablo HerasmeFeb 28, 2013 This is something to strive for.... Amazing dare I say Perfection
Austin SullivanFeb 28, 2013 I love them both, but if it came down to it Koenigsegg is better. They develop all of their technology in-house, making huge innovations and designing and amazing looking car. Pagani makes a beautiful car, but don't have the same engineering finesse.
Brittany SawyerFeb 28, 2013 No adam, its the other way around
Adam ThomsonFeb 28, 2013 Koenigsegg is much better than Pagani!!
Brandon HamiltonFeb 28, 2013 I agree that a car can't get any perfect. This is beautiful and the craftsmanship that goes in is amazing. The red Agera is my favourite
Redge DiakitéFeb 28, 2013 One of the 2 best hypercars company ( Pagani and Koenigsegg)
Paul DickeyFeb 28, 2013 I like the grey with blue stripes.
Wyatt GordonFeb 28, 2013 I love this red one. This, the matte blue one and the white with blue and red stripes are the 3 best Agera's in my opinion.
William DownsFeb 28, 2013 100% agree with that, koenigsegg to me is the best company out there, so much innovation in such a short time from such a small company, I can't imagine the car that replaces the Agera
Brittany SawyerFeb 28, 2013 A car cant get any perfect than this
Description: But what’s most fascinating is that Koenigsegg is proving the combustion engine has a long way to go. Its hypercar technology maximizes performance and minimizes emissions. If this trickled down to sm...Add Comments17
Ben AugustMar 02, 2013 To be fair, there are already turbos for 1200-1400 CC motors, with boosts ranging from 10LB to 30LB, that increase baseline power by 170-310HP alone. Now add that to baseline, at the highest boost = 190HP+310HP=500HP
And people do run these, $3500
Asad YusufzaiMar 02, 2013 This company is doing for cars what Microsoft did for computers I'n the 90's
Just getting better and better
Love the ICE
Respect
Dehong LiuMar 01, 2013 When goes down to 1.3 litter, the engine will not make 300 without boosting
Andrew McNealMar 01, 2013 @Bill, before 1913 in the US, the govt gave you a license plate number and you had to make the actual license plate yourself. A carbon fiber license plate would have been legal then, dunno about now.
Jacob BurfordFeb 28, 2013 Only place anyone will ever see one from on the road!
Felix RhettFeb 28, 2013 My vote goes to either the BLT edition or the "flash green" agera that resembles the limited paint option of the 2004 Volvo s60/v70 R. The latter being extremely difficult to find pictures of, but I think exists somewhere on koenigsegg's website.
Peter Mark GacekFeb 28, 2013 I say just lose the stripes in any color, and this car is purrrrfect. I can't wait to visit Sweden next year...
William DownsFeb 28, 2013 This is a great color but I think white with those blue stripes is the Ageras best look
Woops it's 324kg
