Author Norman R. ColsonFeb 05, 2013 Who cares wtf kind of engine it is, it works and gets the job done! Why y'all whining like a bunch of damn babies!
Lou GuerreroFeb 05, 2013 The LS is popular for pro drifting because of the torque curves. No need to bang on limiters and risk overheating to stay in the powerband.
Ashton SummersFeb 05, 2013 And the likelihood that the VQ would probably blow up at 800hp.
Byakka HirakawaFeb 05, 2013 This is a shameful
Weve modied a few vq and there not that hard to get to 500-600hp
800 wouldnt be anymore difficult
If u want an ls, stick with ur cheves, leave the imports alone
Zaire WilkinsFeb 05, 2013 @victor calm down its a drift car of course they wanted to save weight. And the most you can get out of the VQ35 is 730ish-40hp turbo
Lou GuerreroFeb 05, 2013 My friend has an LS3 in his M3 drift car. Great engines.
Victor PittsFeb 05, 2013 The VQ is an OK engine, but too heavy and not easily tuned like the LS3.
Victor PittsFeb 05, 2013 You guys forget that Carol Shelby put a V8 in a British roadster. Don't tell me that's a no no, it's called efficiency. Learn it. I am with my LS1 powered S13 coupe which will weight 150 pounds less than the stock 4 cylinder KA... Efficient.
Stephen Tyler LearnFeb 05, 2013 Using this v8 was a way to save weight and increase power at the same time. It probably also lowered the cente of gravity which makes it a better drifter. That being said I would never put a v8 in a 350z
Taylor GarryFeb 05, 2013 Meh, I wouldn't put a v8 in it
Joao BattaFeb 05, 2013 I dont think you can get more that 500 hp on that engine with some basic mods
Description: But the big question here is what makes a car a drift car over a regular track car? A full explanation is given in the following video. And yes, get ready for some serious tire smoking.Add Comments9
Stephen Tyler LearnFeb 06, 2013 Sounds awesome. I conpletely agree about the open headers
Patrick SchalkFeb 06, 2013 No emissions here in Oklahoma. I don't have any cats and am running Long tubes 1 7/8 in to a 3in collector, 3 in y pipe, magnaflow muffler AND I have an electric cutout right before the rear axle. Sounds nasty with open headers
Stephen Tyler LearnFeb 05, 2013 @patrick hooker longtube headers with an x pipe sounds awesome on an ls1. Depends on what emissions you have to pass though.
Patrick SchalkFeb 05, 2013 Holy crap that thing sounds badass. My Camaro will sound like that one day

I would be more impressed if they used the vq35....
