2015 Mustang Clay Models Leaked

Ford's next-generation pony car appears to take design cues from its Mach 1 fastback past.
We’re still a year away from when Ford officially reveals its all-new Mustang at the 2014 New York Auto Show. Until then, we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed in regards to the design direction Ford has ultimately chosen for its long-running and beloved pony car. But thanks to the guys over at the Mustang6g forum, we’re able today to see what appear to be leaked clay model photos of the new Mustang and so far, so good. The front-end styling, whether it’s the final design or not, is certainly recognizable as a Mustang.

However, if you look at the background wall poster you’ll see drawings that strongly resemble that of the Evos Concept that premiered at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. Ford has previously hinted that the new Mustang’s design would be partly inspired by the Evos but these clay models tell a different story somewhat. It’s clear from the rear three-quarter angle view of the clay mockup that a fastback design a la Mach 1 has been chosen, something also seen on the Evos. So how accurate are these small-scale clay models? They supposedly come directly from Ford’s design studio so you be the judge.
