Comments - Rent Your Supercar at Hertz For $400 a Day

Published: Jul 01, 2013
Description: Not everyone can afford a supercar. It’s just a harsh reality of life. But what if you could rent one? Although it still won’t be cheap, you’d be able to have some time behind the wheel of your dream...

tomcastjr Jul 02, 2013
lmfao really 400 a day for that pile of crap. you could get a lease on one for that.
Robin Douglas Dawson Jul 01, 2013
This will not end well.
Jacob Burford Jul 01, 2013
Better than 35k for a couple hours on a track with a Gallardo!
Chushen Jin Jul 01, 2013
Lol what if u crash one
Demid Petrov Jul 01, 2013
$400 for a boxter is so expensive...
Tyler Tarbox Jul 01, 2013
Sorry but I'm not even spending $400. That money is going towards my actual supercar purchase fund
Jason Ware Jul 01, 2013
That's pretty lame
Colby Church Jul 01, 2013
@Malachi I drive many cars that way actually. Haha
Malachi Monteiro Jul 01, 2013
If a person really wanted to drive a Boxter, they could just go to a dealer and test drive one.
Ben Knorr Jul 01, 2013
no doubt they charge you a pretty penny per km on top of that as well. They'll get some grad students and wedding couples but to rent one to actually drive around and enjoy for a day is going to really hurt your wallet at the end of the day.
Michael Luck Jul 01, 2013
Hertz has done this before. They stopped after selling off all their GT350s and Corvettes prior to 2009 I think.
David Parenti Jul 01, 2013
The fee is like $15 a day. You HAVE to be 25 to rent a truck, minivan/van, convertible, SUV, or full size sedan. I imagine they won't let you touch a supercar under the age of 25. Being 22 and renting a car is expensive, trust me.
David Parenti Jul 01, 2013
At rental agencies in the U.S. you have to be a minimum of 21 yrs of age to rent a compact, mid sized sedan, or economy car. Anything from a Chevy aveo, to a Toyota Camry. There is an underaged driver fee for anyone under 25.
Shawn Sullivan Jul 01, 2013
I don't think you can buy a boxster for just over $400 a month. Insurance gas the second car you would have for a daily ride, etc. that is why people will pay for a day of fun
Daniel Young Jul 01, 2013
The hertz at MCO let's you rent all kinds of the 991 911, and the Aston Martin v8 vantage.
Gary Alaina Jul 01, 2013
In aus you have to be 25 to rent a super car, is that the same for the states?
Vinny Coppola Jul 01, 2013
I paid $1000 to rent a gallardo for 24 hours last summer
Aaron Sparks Jul 01, 2013
Hahaha $400 for a Porsche Boxster?!?! You could buy one for not much more than that a MONTH.
Braxton Omgbased Booker Jul 01, 2013
@david hell yeah cant even have fun with it
Dylan Bruder Jul 01, 2013
395 for a boxster?! Screw that
David Markham Jul 01, 2013
Yeah this is old news. Enterprise have a prestige line too...
David Parenti Jul 01, 2013
Most rental cars now a days have GPS on them so the rental agency can track where you've been and what speeds you were doing. It would suck if in the rental agreement you had to agree to never exceed 80 mph, or else be penalized.
Jason Ware Jul 01, 2013
Renting super cars is nothing new. It is for Hertz but you can rent super cars and custom choppers in Vegas for a grand a day
Tyler Tarbox Jul 02, 2013
Probably my least favorite modern Ferrari. It sounds good and it's obviously fast, but I don't particularly like the way it looks. The successor and predecessor are both bounds better than this
Jacob Burford Jul 01, 2013
Love*
Jacob Burford Jul 01, 2013
Still an appealing car to this day! Low the sound they make!
Bill Estep Jr Jul 01, 2013
They have some nice cars I was there last night they had a new mustang n a couple camaro's I asked em about this they said they're suppose to get Bentley as well
Jason Ware Jul 01, 2013
The guys that work at Hertz, parking cars.. suddenly love their jobs
Description: But if your budget allows and temptation takes over, you can rent an Aston Martin Vantage, Audi R8, Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911, SRT Viper or even a Bentley Continental GT. That R8...

I am terribly sorry for my writting. Let me write this, The proper and the correct way Mr Randall. Go and fuck yourself
Fabián Ruiz Madriz Jul 02, 2013
@ randall If im renting a supercar I had to pay bills 1st asshole Who wud rent a car instead of paying bills? You have stupidity for breakfast dont u?
John Car Jul 02, 2013
Rip off
PatronofPetrol Jul 02, 2013
Wow. On second thought, I can already rent a 599 here in town for less than Hertz is talking for a measly 430. Psshhh.
PatronofPetrol Jul 02, 2013
I'd go for the more refined and less juvenile models: AMG SLS and the V8 Vantage. The second this launches in Austin, the wife and I will be in the SLS. :-)
Justin Mancuso Jul 02, 2013
I'd go for the 430 or the lambo
Dale McIntyre Jul 02, 2013
Randall you're the dumb one, obviously you wouldn't pay the money you put towards bills for this
Ilya Kravchik Jul 02, 2013
Can you rent it and take it to the racetrack?
Ilya Kravchik Jul 02, 2013
Okay, do I have to replace the tires when I return the car? Because I don't think There will be any tires left
Rob Clark Jul 01, 2013
Wow what a rip-off! Three years ago I rented an F430 from a luxury car rental company in Toronto, for a little under $4000 as a weekly overall fee.
Mike Rupertus Jul 01, 2013
Can carbuzz get the list of 35 markets please? What about insurance?
Lou Guerrero Jul 01, 2013
I know a guy who's an instructor at Gotham Dream Cars.
Gianni Falzone Jul 01, 2013
Actually it costs twice as much as they are sharing. You have to pay the mandatory LDW as well. Source: I touch the cars before they go to rent.
Fabián Ruiz Madriz Jul 01, 2013
A whore?
Zachary Sindelar Jul 01, 2013
That would have to be one hot girl to get sex on the 1st date for that kind of money.
Aj White Jul 01, 2013
laying around "every" month. This is something special maybe a twice a year thing that you can save up for and just have a bit of fun.
Aj White Jul 01, 2013
I wish all these stupid people saying if u can afford the $1000 u can afford to own one. What kinda logic is that? If that was the case places like Gotham Dream Cars would b out of business. It's a treat u save for, it's not like u have that $1000
Fabián Ruiz Madriz Jul 01, 2013
You pay ****
Fabián Ruiz Madriz Jul 01, 2013
Ok so you one month and then wut?? All the rent properties ... U think they dont want to have their own house? Moron
Jesse Andersen Jul 01, 2013
Dipshit logic: if they can afford $500 to rent a car, surely they have a quarter million to just buy it... Go back to school and learn the value of a dollar.
Stanner Kj Jul 01, 2013
See, this is more like it. Otherday, it was $35000 to rent a Lamborghini. That wasn't right IMO.
Hezekiah Howard Jul 01, 2013
Last time I was there they had a CTS-V
Brandon Broussard Jul 01, 2013
Oh I would soooo get the R8!
Rick McAlice Jul 01, 2013
Hmmm, birthday present maybe. It's a big jump from a special occasion drive to actually owning an exotic. Maintenance costs are huge $$$ if you own one. My '02 Z06 is as pricey as I want to own.
Stephen Cobbs Jul 01, 2013
Why would someone pay that much? If they can afford that then buy the damn car.
Tracy Keiser Dron Jul 01, 2013
and yes I do know lots of them are awd, but they still too fast for an average person that has no experience driving a "supercar"
Tracy Keiser Dron Jul 01, 2013
the very first customers will probly wreck them.... so don't count on them lasting long, like I remember back in the day enterprise was renting out 240 sx's..... they all got wrecked pretty fast because of the rwd.... but it'll be fun doing it!!!!!
Lou Guerrero Jul 01, 2013
Damn, that's pricey. Renting a Gallardo or 458 on a race track is less than half that but I guess not many people will see you and think you're loaded the entire day.
António Villas-Boas Jul 01, 2013
Wives, start saving for your mans birthdays!!!
Justin Harris Jul 01, 2013
A power limiter would be hilarious Jakar lol. Start speeding on the highway and it redlines at 65 while that arrogant Camry wizzes by!
Jakub Migalski Jul 01, 2013
I wonder if these cars have something done to them so that you cannot push them to the limit.
Zeus Mocha Jul 01, 2013
soon for sure. It's just like renting any car. You probably could afford the car or can't, that's not the point. The point is you need one for the moment and that's it.
Zeus Mocha Jul 01, 2013
Just because you can spend $1000 for a car once doesn't imply that you can or should do it every month in order to buy the car. I could definitely afford to get one of these to rent a couple times a year. Won't be able to own one for sure any time
Taylor Garry Jul 01, 2013
Randall got it. Not sure how many people would do this
John Santana Jul 01, 2013
If I rent the Bentley I'm going to have to rent a suit as well.
Keith Anderson Jul 01, 2013
I'll be returning them with some bald ass tires.
Dylan Bruder Jul 01, 2013
Dang that's alot I'd go gallardo or viper probably
Quinn Rogers Jul 02, 2013
Wtf is up with that panel gap? Top gear was making fun of the viper but this looks pretty bad too
John Patten Jul 01, 2013
Same, but not a lot of people speak English there, and yes it's a never ending party, nice cars too, saw a M6, MP4-12C, LP-570, 458, and Ferrari cail, all in 20 mins
Tyrone Smith Jul 01, 2013
I hate the fans of the Miami Heat. They're all fake fans. I bet more than half of them didn't even like basketball before LeBron came in 2010. But that's besides the point, this 430 is sexy.
David Parenti Jul 01, 2013
Miami is like a 24/7 party that never ends.
John Patten Jul 01, 2013
Yes, it's Miami, I was down there a few weeks ago
Lou Guerrero Jul 01, 2013
I think it's Miami solely based off the bridge and water. They have a bunch f exotic rentals down there. It's big business.
David Parenti Jul 01, 2013
Florida plate? Has to be in Orlando or Miami, possibly West Palm Beach or FT. Lauderdale.
Justin Mancuso Jul 02, 2013
I saw like 3 of this exact car at a show yesterday
Tyrone Smith Jul 01, 2013
@Tyler I meant in comparison to a Murcielago. I know that it's not actually for poor people, obviously... It's a Lambo! But all I was saying is that it seems like the bottom of the barrel when it comes to other lambos. Like the Murci or Aventador.
Jacob Burford Jul 01, 2013
Sinister in black!
Matt Sutton Jul 01, 2013
Fun to drive as long as youre under 6'2". If not, its not for you.
Tyler Tarbox Jul 01, 2013
How is this a "poor man's Lambo"? It costs upwards of $200,000. If not being able to afford this counts as poor then sign me up for welfare.
Jason Ware Jul 01, 2013
Ty @ Aj. Lol poor mans lambo
Tyrone Smith Jul 01, 2013
I've always liked the Murcielago over this. Ever since they came out, this has always been a "poor man's Lambo" to me. But in not bashing anyone's taste. It's just what I've always thought of it.
Aj White Jul 01, 2013
@Jason No he's just saying that's not black chrome that's just a black powder coated wheel. Black chrome is well, black chrome. It still looks like chrome this just looks like paint. Black chrome is chrome with basically a black candy sprayed over it
Tyler Tarbox Jul 01, 2013
This car is definitely my attainable goal that's getting me through school. I'd love an Aventador but a $450K car is absurd. I'll stick to aiming for a $100K used baby bull.
Jason Ware Jul 01, 2013
Are you saying there is no such thing as black chrome? Might wanna google that buddy.
Zeus Mocha Jul 01, 2013
Great looking car. One of the first super cars I'll buy if I get the opportunity to. Also it's just black, not black chrome.
Matt Sutton Jul 01, 2013
I drove one of these for 7 laps for $400. I'll rather do that and go 130+.
Dylan Bruder Jul 01, 2013
Looks great
Jason Ware Jul 01, 2013
Black chrome rims. Love em
Justin Mancuso Jul 02, 2013
Yeah either fly for 5 hours or drive this for a day, no competition really
Aj White Jul 01, 2013
@Luke Sure wouldn't b but I'd read the article unless u wanna drive a base Boxter that is.
Andrei Alexandru Jul 01, 2013
I don't think 1500$ is that much to rent a car like this. I mean 1500$ for a very enjoyable day is actually quite reasonable.
Jason J Roberts Jul 01, 2013
If I did this, my wife would kill me. But at least I'd die smiling. 😃
Zachary Maurer Jul 01, 2013
Lol Jason, this is some guys mid-life crisis dream
Dylan Bruder Jul 01, 2013
Yup shame it's over 1k though
Luke Purdy Jul 01, 2013
A day in this for $400 wouldn't be too bad
Jason Ware Jul 01, 2013
Its sweet to drive a lambo for the day but how much would it suck when you have to get back into your Toyota Camry and come back to reality
Justin Mancuso Jul 02, 2013
Not worth 1500
Mike Rupertus Jul 01, 2013
Can we see this Aston brand in some exotic color rather than this expected color?
Jacob Burford Jul 01, 2013
Gorgeous car all round
Tyrone Smith Jul 01, 2013
What a beauty. It's got the class, and he power to back it up.
Colin Carlo Jul 01, 2013
My kinda ride
Tyler Wallace Jul 01, 2013
good question
Jason Ware Jul 01, 2013
Does the rental insurance cover love stains? Cuz this thing is a chick magnet
Tyrone Smith Jul 01, 2013
So classy. I love these cars...
Justin Harris Jul 01, 2013
Epic rims on that..
Justin Mancuso Jul 02, 2013
@Tanton its because they are insanely boring compared to its competition. It looks fairly bland compared to a Ferrari or Lamborghini, and all the computers drive it for you. Most people who buy one say they thought it was boring.
Nour Ahmad Jul 02, 2013
How much for 1 day in this??
Tanton Stoneman Jul 01, 2013
I don't understand why people are dissing this... It's the newest and the best performing.
Jacob Burford Jul 01, 2013
Massive respect for this car but no love I'm afraid!
Miko Reginella Jul 01, 2013
Lol Oren, get out
Oren Blumenstein Jul 01, 2013
How can you have pride in buying a car that's already fast? Get a decent car and build to be fast It'll be cheaper
Tyler Tarbox Jul 01, 2013
Everyone stop calling this car "crap". It's an engineering marvel and certainly a supercar by any standards except maybe it's looks and even those are pretty good. It's fast and very expensive. What else does it need?
Tyrone Smith Jul 01, 2013
Why do so many people praise this car like its the best car ever made? Look, I totally respect what this car can do, and numbers certainly don't lie, But this will always be just a computer on wheels to me. I'd rather a car that is more car than tech
Aj White Jul 01, 2013
Yeah it's crap and can basically slaughter all the other cars in the lineup. I'll rent this and you guys rent that 430 and we'll see what's crap then.
Fabián Ruiz Madriz Jul 01, 2013
Lol Not crap I wud take the italians though
pablo.herasme Jul 01, 2013
you clearly don't know what this car is if your calling it crap
James Myron Darnell Crabbe Jul 01, 2013
Ain't no way I'm renting this crap!!
Brandon Broussard Jul 01, 2013
Yeah NO WAY would I rent this when actual supercars are in the mix.
Zaire Wilkins Jul 01, 2013
@stephen please shut up you just killed the vibe
Stephen Reed Warren II Jul 01, 2013
You have choices like Ferrari and Aston and you're choosing a Nissan? Haha not me. Ever.
Tanton Stoneman Jul 01, 2013
This would be my choice.
Zaire Wilkins Jul 01, 2013
I would love to rent this
Rob Clark Jul 01, 2013
Love how the tailpipes are almost the same size as the taillights.
Jason J Roberts Jul 01, 2013
I'd rent this and then head directly to the track.
Joey McClary Jul 01, 2013
They never said it was one of the ones available.
Chris Bernard Jul 01, 2013
Are you serious?
Jason Ware Jul 01, 2013
Where's the Carrera GT?
Jacob Burford Jul 01, 2013
This new one looks great!
Fabián Ruiz Madriz Jul 01, 2013
VW Engine
Andrew Semak Jul 01, 2013
Not a supercar
Jacob Burford Jul 01, 2013
V Agree
Tyler Tarbox Jul 01, 2013
Agree with Aj. The old Boxter was definitely a woman's car. But the new one is great
Aj White Jul 01, 2013
@Colin The old one was. The new one is actual a decent sportscar. I'm not a convertible fan so I'd take a Cayman but the Boxster Spyder and this new generation I like them.
Colin Carlo Jul 01, 2013
It's a girl car any ways so who cares
aaron.samuels.184 Jul 01, 2013
agreed. not a huge fan of the center exhaust
Edward Galligan Jul 01, 2013
If it had two exhausts each side it would be better
Justin Mancuso Jul 02, 2013
@Tyler is that a good or a bad thing?
Jacob Burford Jul 01, 2013
This might be my pick
Tyler Tarbox Jul 01, 2013
Those doors will let everyone know just how big your cock is
Tyrone Smith Jul 01, 2013
The decisions are getting quite tough. Either this, the 430, or the Aston for me so far.
Fabián Ruiz Madriz Jul 01, 2013
Ferrari anyday
Miko Reginella Jul 01, 2013
I gotta say, I'd take the Lambo
Andrei Alexandru Jul 01, 2013
This is the one I'd go for.
aaron.samuels.184 Jul 01, 2013
this one or the Lamborghini definitely!
Dylan Bruder Jul 01, 2013
Nice
Zachary Bearb Jul 01, 2013
Yes this would be it
Fabián Ruiz Madriz Jul 01, 2013
Yup Just get rid the plates
Jason Ware Jul 01, 2013
Perfect for the guy trying to impress ppl at his high school reunion
