The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider continues into the new model year with a new ultra-limited special edition trim. Introducing the 4C Spider 33 Stradale Tributo, built to honor the also mid-engined 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, one of the Italian brand's most iconic sports cars.

Limited to only 33 examples, the 4C Spider 33 Stradale Tributo comes in only one exterior color, Rossa Villa d'Este tri-coat, and a set of gray-gold five-hole alloy wheels measuring 18-inches up front and 19-inches at the rear. Also new are "Centro Stile Alfa Romeo" badges and an optional piano-black front air intake and rear diffuser.

Inside, the composite sports seats feature black Dinamica suede and tobacco leather. To note its limited build numbers, there are unique plaques located on the dash, side sills, and center console, though only the latter is individually numbered.

Other special touches include a number-matching book designed by the firm's Centro Stile design center that details the 4C's design history, beginning from the concept stage, its technologies, build materials, and the Modena assembly line. The history of the 33 Stradale is also appropriately included. The rest of the 4C Spider remains unchanged and we're okay with that.

The carbon fiber monocoque chassis (in a red transparent finish for the first time) and the all-aluminum 1.75-liter turbocharged inline-four with direct injection with 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque both return. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a six-speed dual dry clutch gearbox. Alfa Romeo claims a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 160 mph.

A number of the special edition's other features are typically optional but are now standard, including an Akrapovic dual-mode center-mounted exhaust, race-tuned suspension, bi-xenon headlamps, rear wing, and Italian flag mirror caps.

A non-special edition 4C Spider costs thousands more when similarly equipped, so the 33 Stradale Tributo's starting price of $79,995 should be considered solid value. Those interested should act fast not only due to the limited build count but also because it'll only be available at select Alfa Romeo dealerships.
