Even the Chinese Think Chinese Cars Suck(Apr 14, 2014)'We like their egg rolls?' You realise that China makes a huge proportion of our consumer goods.... Their cars might be crap but give them a little more credit..
It's Official: 2015 Corvette Stingray Receiving 8-Speed Auto(Apr 07, 2014)BMW started using the 8 speed auto 3 years ago. It takes over 0.5 of a second off the 0-60 time, increases fuel efficiency by over 10% and feels smoother. In 5 years manuals will be DEAD in everything but small volume specialists. Welcome to progress.
Would You Buy this eBay ‘Ferrari Cayenne’?(Apr 05, 2014)All sorts of wrong here. Supercar companies such as Ferrari should have no place in building trucks here so to suggest that this is made by them? Please... Should have kept it as a Porsche, all the owner has done is to devalue his vehicle..
Hennessey Reveals 'World’s Fastest Edition' Venom GT(Mar 26, 2014)Same old argument - blah, blah Veyron, blah, blah, Venom, blah, blah The 1. This patriotic bullshit headline is just CB trying to get us to create chatter on their app... Hmmm, seems to be working.. :/
Ferrari to MH370 Families: Go Grieve Somewhere Else(Mar 24, 2014)Is anyone surprised at Ecclestone's reply? This is a man who refused to recognise the protestors dying in Qatar before the F1 race last year and was recently in court over a $50 million Fraud charge. He is the perfect spokesman for this greedy, electronic catwalk of a 'sport'.
Bentley Wants its SUV to Hit 200 MPH(Mar 24, 2014)I don't care if it does 400mph - it'll still be a monstrosity and Bentley has no place building an SUV... Stop 'following the pack'!
Koenigsegg One:1 Vs. A Beached Whale (the Veyron)(Mar 23, 2014)This is a stupid line of argument. Bugatti is owned by VW but the Veyron is NOT a Volkswagen, it is built in a Bugatti factory by Bugatti engineers. Would you call Ferrari a Fiat because they are owned by Fiat? Please get your facts straight before spouting this crap.
Koenigsegg One:1 Vs. A Beached Whale (the Veyron)(Mar 23, 2014)BTW Carbuzz - this 'beached whale' title you give to the Veyronis inaccurate and a bit childish. As some of others on this thread have pointed out, it redefined our definition of supercar performance when it was launched. I suspect that this is another one of your cheap headlines to get us commenting (and I fell for it to :/).
Koenigsegg One:1 Vs. A Beached Whale (the Veyron)(Mar 23, 2014)There is no universal definition of PRODUCTION CAR, as it depends on whether or not you use exclusions. It might be simpler to use the phrase: road legal car, that way you exclude tuned up 'specials' like the twin turbo Lambos, magnificent though they may be. My own personal opinion is that there should be a minimum limit of 200 vehicles, made as in the homologation rules for rally cars. If this is the case, will anyone ever beat the Veyron..?
Honda Has Built 20 Million Vehicles in the USA(Mar 21, 2014)Damn, the US gets the worst Hondas. Over here in Europe we have had the Integra type R, the Civic type R, Accord Type R, NSX, CRX, S2000. All you seem to get are these really ugly SUVs and large saloons.
2,000-Hp Lamborghini Gallardo Hits 250 MPH Before Catching Fire(Mar 21, 2014)@Geoff - I respect what UGR have done (who wouldn't) but they cannot put their cars through the rigorous testing that Lamborghini would have in the design process of the original Gallardo (cold/hot climate testing, hours of high speed work etc). Increasing the horsepower four-fold without a fundamental redesign of the car will cause problems like this. But hey, envelopes must be pushed....
Cars America Missed Out On: Pagani Zonda(Mar 20, 2014)Why restricted mileage? Too fast? Too sexy? Too European? What the hell! Y'all can legally own military grade weapons yet can't drive certain cars....
Is BMW Ruining Itself With FWD Models?(Mar 18, 2014)@ Wayne - how could anyone with any level of experience not tell RWD from FWD? I agree that FWD is getting more sophisticated (ie trick diff in Golf GTi or Focus RS) but it will not match RWD for driving pleasure as you are steering with the same wheels that are trying to propel the car forward. The reason BMW is taking this step is because FWD is considerably cheaper to produce.
Could Subaru Create an STI Sub-Brand?(Mar 14, 2014)Using a common engine across the BRZ/STi would surely make sense - around 300HP? That way you'd have a 4 wheel drive monster for the rally fans and a RWD drifting machine for the rest of us :)
It's also easy to tune up turbo engines....
Nissan GT-R Goes Summersaulting at Knysna Hill Climb(Feb 25, 2014)Yep, manual transmission is great fun stuck in city traffic for hours on end, left leg ache etc.... The argument for manual over auto is irrelevant because manual won't be around in mass produced cars in around 10 years - it will become an anachronism.
Hennessey Venom GT Busts the Veyron SS's Balls (Again)(Feb 25, 2014)I agree that the LaFerrari/918/P1 would be a much better buy than either this or the Veyron. You need to own your own runway to get anywhere near the top speed of the Veyron or Venom. At least the Veyron is drivable anywhere in comfort. The venom seems to be a one trick pony - top speed and nothing else. It's not even as if this ability can be properly exploited..
