Pair of McLaren 12Cs Battle an SRT Viper(17 minutes ago)@Nick: yea I'm not sure- you could be right. However, even on the vaunted Nurburgring, the Viper posted much faster times. In the top 100 fastest laps, production Viper RT/10 (SRT) is #6 overall. The McLaren? #26, and 16 seconds slower.
Pair of McLaren 12Cs Battle an SRT Viper(3 hours ago)Current fastest lap record holder at Mazda Laguna Seca, for a production car (no-mod)?
SRT Viper TA.
And yes, it's 2 seconds faster than this McLaren. Sorry to burst some bubbles.
2015 Mustang Has Been Leaked(23 hours ago)Ohhhhh-! You know I read somewhere that Ford was trying to improve their market share of sales to women. Now it makes sense!
Next Batmobile Details Coming to Light(Dec 04, 2013)This is massive fail. It's like the opposite of how plated armor should be. It should be flush...not this...! Look at all those edges-perfect for maximizing and directing damage IN to the vehicle. Haha what a physics fail.
Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Annihilates the Autobahn(Dec 01, 2013)Literally unbelievable, the people of this world. Here you have a literal example, of a guy dying on a joyride. Hey man, go ahead- drive all you want like that. Just know that everyone is praying that you die, instead of some other innocent driver.
Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Annihilates the Autobahn(Dec 01, 2013)The tree looks like it's at the middle point of the car- and it's not even a big tree. I wonder how fast you have to be going, to slice your car vertically like that. Probably like this guy in this video.
Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Annihilates the Autobahn(Nov 29, 2013)Nah- you see how close he gets to hitting someone? So many trashed Ferraris, wrapped around trees, upside down, etc... It's not a matter of if, but when. This idiot? I give it 2 years.
Ford SVT Chief: Ring Times Are Misleading(Nov 29, 2013)Especially considering few people are actually profession drivers, and thus, they may never come close to putting up the pro-numbers. A test like that, would reveal the fastest car, for an amateur driver (current: fastest, for a pro). Big difference.
Ford SVT Chief: Ring Times Are Misleading(Nov 29, 2013)Ya I would agree. It would be nice if the only variable in a comparative lap-time test would be the car...although, id love to see a "Joe Schmoe" test, where an average (not professional) driver tests these cars. I mean, that might be more telling.
1994 Dodge Viper Has Just 504 Miles(Nov 29, 2013)@Adam; it cost me $700 for a full oem replacement for my charger. FULL OEM.
No way it has anything to do with costs. That's about as cheap as it gets.
1994 Dodge Viper Has Just 504 Miles(Nov 29, 2013)Wow that's terrible. I'd rather have ANY interior from a 60s-70s Mopar. By 69 Charger has a pretty nice one, that puts this to shame. How did they go that far backwards...?
Next Audi R8 is Heading for Weight Watchers(Nov 26, 2013)@Randall: I ended up searching to see how much the Gallardo and R8 share, and motor trend's exact words were "their differences are only skin deep" so evidently they share a lot.
So there you go- Gallardo = glorified Audi per motor trend.
Next Audi R8 is Heading for Weight Watchers(Nov 26, 2013)Then again, I really have no idea about the tech specs, dates, whatever of these two cars. Maybe I'm wrong-!
But if I was a Ferrari owner, I'd mock Lambo owners: "nice glorified Audi" just to get under their skin. See, it's a knock on Lambos.
Next Audi R8 is Heading for Weight Watchers(Nov 26, 2013)@Andre, others who think the Gallardo borrows from the R8:
1st Production Date:
How was the Gallardo borrowing from the R8, when R8 didn't exist till SIX YEARS later? Sigh....
Anyways, Lambos based on Audis would be worse.
Next Audi R8 is Heading for Weight Watchers(Nov 26, 2013)Some part of me is annoyed about the platform sharing...granted, that annoyance may not be logical. But if I owned a Lambo, I'd feel a bit cheated knowing that Audis are based on my Lambo...thought it was supposed to be unique...exclusive....
Say What?! Cadillac Elmiraj Coupe Cancelled?(Nov 24, 2013)Yep. This rear is clearly based on the atrocious mid-90's Eldorado rear end. It's painful to look at. With ALL of Cadillac's illustrious history and art, they used THAT POS car as a template? My god. The logic is mind-blowing.
GT-R Nismo Destroys the Nurburgring(Nov 21, 2013)The quote: "...Nissan has confirmed the official number: 7:08.679. For the record, the extraordinary lap time puts the GT-R Nismo ahead of the likes of the Lexus LFA and Porsche 918 Spyder."
Cop Opens Fire at Minivan Full of Kids(Nov 19, 2013)@Kelcy: did he shoot at a van filled with children?
Were ALL of those children putting that officer in life threatening danger?
Is lethal force permitted to be used against non-threatening children?
Cop Opens Fire at Minivan Full of Kids(Nov 18, 2013)@Aaron:
The police are not allowed to discharge their sidearm at a target, while that target is surrounded by innocent/non-threatening bystanders; conversely, they are not allowed to discharge their sidearm at a target surrounded by innocent kids.
First Look at Lykan Hypersport on the Move(Nov 18, 2013)I wouldn't call this video as an opportunity to "watch those performance numbers come to life"
I'd say it's more like "watch this car drive at sub-30mph speeds, with rpms no higher than 3000"
Porsche Revises 918 Spyder Performance Figures(Nov 18, 2013)"We have used all options available up to now to electrify the 918 Spyder, working right up to the last minute to do so," said Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Senior Vice President 918 Spyder. "
IE., Porsche is in panic mode. Enter P1, LaFerrari fears..
Cyber Gray Stingray is Stealth on Wheels(Nov 18, 2013)Looks awesome, but mostly because of the very white/bright contrast of the background. My neighbor has a "stealth" C6, and if looks like crap 9/10 of the time. You really need a strong contrast for this to work...like now they present it.
This is Why Jaguar Will Never Build a Pickup(Nov 16, 2013)Considering you wouldn't buy a Jaguar for it's towing capacity, it's payload, or it's "work-truck" pedigree...this rendering makes more sense than the alternative.
2015 Mustang's Turbo Four Debuted in the Lincoln MKC(Nov 14, 2013)Yes Jerome. You're clearly the judicator of Carbuzz. Lol.
Way to stick up for the "king of ham."
And yes, back to the topic, as to why Ford would make a Mustang with a Turbo 4...an equally hilarious topic.
2015 Mustang's Turbo Four Debuted in the Lincoln MKC(Nov 14, 2013)@Ryan: it's worth it because of William's useless drivel that he spews out in a redundant manner. Note how hypocritical each of his statements were. I'm doing him a favor- reacting in a manner that will hopefully inspire him to consider his musings.
2015 Mustang's Turbo Four Debuted in the Lincoln MKC(Nov 14, 2013)If I invested in a project that you took lead on, it would still be a collaboration. A joint project.
And if their individual motors were already so good, why build this one? And this specific motor is already under scrutiny, for lack of power. Lolz
2015 Mustang's Turbo Four Debuted in the Lincoln MKC(Nov 14, 2013)@William: just stop...it hurts the more I read it. They collaborated on the same motor, merely by agreeing for one to build it, and the other to PURCHASE IT for their cars. That is, by definition, COLLABORATION.
Good god man. Just shut up.
2015 Mustang's Turbo Four Debuted in the Lincoln MKC(Nov 14, 2013)@william: you're a god damn moron.
Some of the best cars in the world, use engines sourced from other car manufacturers. Stop sounding like a total terd; collaboration on one motor, for 2 brands, is what Toyota and Subaru already did. Lol moron
Chinese Not Allowed to Buy New Cars(Nov 14, 2013)This problem won't be restricted to China. Population growth already exceeds investments in infrastructure, across many metropolitan cities. I actually commend china for recognizing that PopG+Cars=major problem. It sucks, but it's true.
W Motors Reveals 1,000HP SuperSport(Nov 14, 2013)@JB: oh but they have raced. Forza, GT, GTA, Ridge Racer, N4S...in fact, it's all the knowledge you need, to make a car that exists only in a computer.
Say Goodbye to the Mercedes SLS AMG(Nov 14, 2013)Pretty sure it's replacement will be up to the task. I kind of like how MB recognizes that ending a product, keeps it unique. This car gonna be worth a lot down the road, super scarce,...and even that much more badass to own.
McLaren P1 Has Sold Out(Nov 13, 2013)Ya, compared to the P1 and LaFerrari, the 918 is very conservative in appearance. Not a bad thing, but worth noting. I wonder how it will age, in terms of aesthetics...?
Yellow LaFerrari Fires Up, Blasts Down the Track(Nov 13, 2013)@Marco- yea it's mind blowing how many ignorant people there are. I love when people joke about it's name, as all they're really doing is providing a written and public record of how stupid they are. It's such a "C'mon man!" moment. Cheers, eh?
Yellow LaFerrari Fires Up, Blasts Down the Track(Nov 13, 2013)@Rob: "LaFerrari" is perfect; "La" without a space, translates into "The" as in "divine."
LaFerrari is essentially Divine Ferrari.
The only one that matters. I'm happy to call it that.
Ferrari 458 Challenge Evoluzione Breaks Cover(Nov 12, 2013)So...you have a problem with functional aerodynamics? Do you hate planes? Helicopters? Jets?
There's a clear difference between a race car with a rear wing, and a corolla with a rear wing. Acting like downforce is a negative thing = ignorant.
Devel 16's Engine Developed in the US(Nov 10, 2013)I mean....maybe it's just a supercharged, nitro-blown Hemi...those kick out 5k HP all day.
Of course, they're not 16 cyl, and they're only good for one day... Haha
The Greatness of the Original Dodge Challenger(Nov 10, 2013)@leavingmarks
I had one. With a 340, and then I sold the 340, and build up a 440 for it. Truth be told, though the 440 was a killer, it was just SO MUCH extra weight. Really impacted how the car handled.
My opinion- do a built 340. It'll scream!
The Greatness of the Original Dodge Challenger(Nov 10, 2013)But the old Chally, the rear was much less a brick. I think that's what kills the new one. Looks to....weird. I can't describe it properly.
But it comes from the shortened LX platform, which is a sedan. Maybe that's the issue. Not sure...
The Greatness of the Original Dodge Challenger(Nov 10, 2013)I'm with Eli on this one.
The current Chally has some very odd proportion issues. It looks deceptively tall, deceptively narrow, and way too dense. The rear especially- looks like the back end came from a brick. But that's what u get with the LX.
Australian Racer Comes to Kick Some US Tail(Nov 06, 2013)I'm asking how can you tell it is a Hemi?
The valve covers don't have spark plugs through the top of them. I'm only asking because though I'm familiar with the old ones, I'm not good with the new ones. No spark plugs though the valve cover anymore?
This De Tomaso Pantera Wows SEMA Faithful(Nov 06, 2013)Well in 1970 They were building formula one cars, and were partnered with Maserati (which was owned by Citroen). So 3 options there. But given the relationship with Ford....I'd have gone with the 351 Windsor. Great short block- and aftermarket.
Australian Racer Comes to Kick Some US Tail(Nov 06, 2013)I mean, this photo looks like crap on my phone, but I certainly don't see 4 separate spark plug wires running out of the top of the left-side valve cover...so doesn't look Hemi to me. Plus, the hi-combustion on a Hemi is not friendly to a turbo...hmm
This Plymouth Superbird Might Fetch $500k(Nov 05, 2013)@Daniel: the first car to do 200mph in NASCAR was a joke? And a drag coefficient of .28 is a joke?
It took 13 years for someone to do it again, and they only did it by 2 mph (1983).
Ignorance must be bliss, genius. Lolz
Porsche Unveils 2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S(Nov 01, 2013)No, johns right. The only people buying this...ultra rich. Not saying it's wrong, just describing what's happening. Glad Porsche is making it, but damn..income inequality is mind blowing.
Vette Thinks it's a Viper, Appeals to No-one(Oct 30, 2013)The real question about replicas: WHY?
No matter who's asking, once they find out that it's a fake, you'll just get laughed at.
I could see someone this is a Viper, find out the truth, and just start laughing at the owner's face...
McLaren P1 Clocks 6.47 at the Ring!(Oct 23, 2013)Just do yourself a favor before replying any more, and do some actual research about how much of the P1 is due to McLaren's F1 venture. This is getting old. I'll say in one word, what you should have been saying all along:
They're not F1.
McLaren P1 Clocks 6.47 at the Ring!(Oct 23, 2013)Also, thanks for bringing up it's suspension. Did you know it is controlled by McLaren's 100% F1 derived RaceActive Chassis Control (RCC)? Lol. F1 wins are due to a car's ability to manipulate downforce on the track (active). Hmm P1 has this system..
