The Frontier is a great pickup truck for the price. I am getting 16-18 MPG on my commute (30 miles each way). The interior is comfortable, but it does not feel like it will last as long as other vehicles I have owned. The exterior is nice looking, but it does seem a little bit cheap. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a small SUV/pickup that can handle off-road terrain while still being reliable and safe on the highway.
I've had my Frontier for a little over 2 years now. I bought it used with 60k miles on it and have put another 40k on it myself. It's been a great truck, but I am having some issues with it now. First off, this is a great-looking truck with plenty of power to tow and haul what you need to. It rides just fine, but it can get a little rough when not loaded down. It does have decent gas mileage for the size of truck (18 city/24 hwy) but not spectacular by today's standards. The stereo system is pretty bad - even worse than most other vehicles from this era - and needs replacing ASAP if you're interested in listening to music while driving! The biggest issue I've had was with the transmission going out at only 80k miles. That's pretty bad considering that the last vehicle I owned before this one went 300k miles without any major issues (Ford F150). After looking into it further, Nissan has had problems with their transmissions going bad on these trucks early on due to faulty parts used during manufacturing.
I've owned my 2008 Frontier for a while and this is fantastic truck! It has everything I was looking for in a vehicle: 4WD, large bed for hauling stuff around, nice interior, great mileage (18-20 mpg), and good power. It is also really comfortable on long drives. The only downside is that there isn't much cargo space behind the back seat because of the roll cage/cabinets but that's not an issue for me since I usually carry everything in the bed anyway.
