The existence of the DBS Volante can be confusing. Since the DBS is really just a hardcore version of the DB9, wouldn’t cutting the roof off just ruin the hardcore-ness of the thing? No. Somehow it does not. The DBS chassis is so stiff that it did not require any extra reinforcing to go topless, and it therefore carries very little extra speed-killing weight. It may not handle the turns quite as well as the coupe, but this is not your average convertible GT car either. With the DBS Volante, you can enjoy having the top down without worrying that you’ve ruined the car.
