There are two trims available for the latest Audi A3, the Premium and Premium Plus. While both are powered by the same engine, each can be had in FWD or quattro AWD guise. The power plant doing duty is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with 201 hp and 221 lb-ft.
The base model rolls on 17-inch wheels and comes with a panoramic sunroof and LED exterior lighting as standard. Inside you have leather upholstery, eight-way power-adjustable front seats with four-way lumbar settings, and thee-zone climate control. The front seats are heated, and there is a 10.1-inch touchscreen display that controls infotainment settings. Lane departure warning, pre sense front, and a rearview camera are included. Upgrading to the Premium Plus trim sees the addition of adaptive cruise control with lane guidance, memory settings for the driver's seat, wireless phone charging, and side assist with rear-cross traffic alert.
There isn't much you can do to an A3. The larger 18-inch alloy wheels cost $1,550 as part of the Black Optic Sport Package. It simply adds black exterior trim and drops the ride height by 0.6 inches. The Premium can be ordered with a Convenience Package for $1,900. It adds all of the convenience and safety items you get as standard in Premium Plus and above. These include Audi's advanced key, auto-dimming side and rearview mirrors, memory for the driver's seat, park assist, and a 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM.
Premium Plus models can be specified with a $2,250 Technology Package, which adds navigation, the 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit display, traffic sign recognition, and the 15-speaker B&O sound system.
