2019 A5 Coupe Interior

The 2019 A5 Coupe's decorous exterior styling continues on to the interior, where it's all standard Audi fare (that's a good thing). The interior layout is clean, bordering on clinical, and the dashboard flow and spread of knobs and buttons look polished. Audi always puts extra effort into its cars' interiors, and it really shows in the A5 Coupe; the cabin is quiet and feels airtight. Important controls are spread logically across the dashboard and are easily accessible from the driver or passenger seat. In terms of materials and functionality, the Audi bests its German rivals. The A5 Coupe doesn't make you feel like you're in a race car, rather it envelops you in a well put together, and beautifully designed leather-wrapped German cocoon.

Seating and Interior Space

The Audi A5 Coupe can officially carry five people, but in reality, four adults will sit comfortably. The front seats are firm, but offer good support, and will perform well over long distances, but that can't be said for the rear passengers. The rear seats are comfortable, but there's limited space, and larger passengers will feel cramped. The driver and front passenger get 41.3-inches of legroom and 39.8-inches of headroom. The Mercedes and BMW offer slightly more legroom, but the Mercedes offers the least amount of headroom (35.2 inches). Backseat legroom will always be compromised in a coupe, but the Audi still manages to offer practical seating in the rear, albeit not for larger passengers.

Interior Colors and Materials

The A5's interior looks great, and it's here where the A5 Coupe flexes its premium muscles. Every touchpoint inside the A5's cabin has a tangible sense of quality and build quality that feels like it should belong in a top-tier premium sedan. You won't find any cloth seat options in the A5, instead, you get to choose from four styles of leather and three types of interior inlays. Aluminum Trimaran is the standard inlay on the A5 Coupe, but you can opt for Natural Gray Oak Wood or Piano Black (when you opt for the Black optic plus package). The A5 Coupe comes with supple black leather seats as standard, but new owners can opt for black leather with blue contrast stitching (via the black optic plus package). Black leather/ Rock Gray and Nougat Brown are also on offer.

2019 A5 Coupe Trunk and Cargo Space

The A5 Coupe manages to remain quite practical despite the sleek looks. Trunk space isn't class-leading, measuring 11.6 cubic feet, but the A5's flat load floor makes it easier to get things in and out, and should comfortably fit five or six Nespresso machines. Thankfully Audi included split-folding rear seats in its design. With the seats folded down, the A5 scores extra practicality points. Handy side nets and four cargo tie-downs in the rear makes organizing your stuff a little bit easier. Interior storage is passable and will do a fine job of storing all the essentials.
