2023 e-tron S Exterior
Like all modern Audis, the e-tron exudes good taste. While rival EV SUVs have a more extroverted exterior, the e-tron S can easily be mistaken for one of the automaker's ICE-powered SUVs. Depending on your preferences, this could be a good or bad thing. Still, there's no denying it's a beautiful alternative to the oddly-styled BMW iX. To lend it a more brooding presence, Audi has fitted the e-tron S with a few sporting touches. Both the front and rear bumpers have been reworked, with more aggressive air dams and sharper lines. A tailgate spoiler also adorns the rear. Interestingly, the bolder front fenders make the e-tron S wider than the vehicle on which it's based. Standard 20-inch wheels complete the look, although better-looking 22-inch options are available at extra cost, but only as part of the Black Optic package. A panoramic sunroof is standard.
Automatic LED headlights with DRLs are standard fitment on the Premium Plus, and the Prestige gets cutting-edge Matrix-design LED items. If you're looking to spruce up the exterior, Audi offers both trim levels with a Black Optic package. Aside from black exterior trim and mirror housings, the additional $3,500 nets you 22-inch wheels.

Dimensions
In terms of dimensions, the Audi e-tron S occupies the space between the Q5 and Q7. Measuring 193 inches in length, it's significantly longer than the Q5 but matches its smaller sibling in height, at 65.5 inches. That aggressive stance comes courtesy of the 77.8-inch width (86.2 in with the mirrors included), which is on par with Q7 dimensions.
Compared to its rivals, the e-tron S has a fairly middling wheelbase with a figure of 115.1 inches, compared to the BMW iX's 118.1 inches. The notably bigger Model X also offers more passenger space and, despite its inflated exterior, it's lighter than the Audi, too. The e-tron S has a bit of a dietary problem, reflected in its 6,074 lb curb weight. To put this figure into perspective, this unassuming Audi SUV weighs more than the average Ford F-350.

Exterior Colors
Like most high-end Audi, the e-tron S is offered in a limited range of conservative colors. Brilliant Black is the only no-cost option but, for $595, you can choose from a selection of metallic hues, namely Navarra Blue, Florett Silver, Mythos Black, and Daytona Gray Pearl Effect. Of all of these, only Navarra Blue stands out as a bit special. This represents a severely constrained palette compared to what was available in the past and you can't even specify Audi's exclusive paints anymore. We suspect this because, like its normal e-tron sibling, the e-tron S' facelift is imminent, turning it into the Q8 e-tron S. This should be accompanied by an expansion of the color choices.
