The R8 Performance takes the mad V10 already in the base version and turns it up a click or two with more power. The Performance also gets multiple gloss carbon-fiber accents on the center console and instrument binnacle, as well as trim panels in the engine bay. Options like carbon-ceramic brakes and upgraded laser lighting for the headlights are standard here too, but some features are removed in the pursuit of outright performance - most notably the B&O sound system and 18-way adjustable seats. That said, you can option them back in for a price. However, a notable exclusion is dual-zone climate control, replaced instead with basic air-conditioning, an odd choice by the people in charge at Audi.
