2023 RS5 Sportback Safety

While the RS5 Sportback has not been crash-tested by the NHTSA or IIHS, the A5 Sportback range has undergone all the necessary evaluations. The regular A5 scored highly, with the IIHS awarding a spread of top scores and a Top Safety Pick+ award for 2022. The NHTSA gave the A5 full marks in all but frontal crash tests, where it scored four stars. This should give a good indication of the Audi RS5 Sportback's safety levels, as the performance variant has a similar structure and an almost identical list of standard safety features.

2023 RS5 Sportback Key Safety Features

As standard, the RS5 Sportback comes with a long list of safety features, including seven airbags that cover the driver and passenger's front and knees, the sides, and curtains. Rear-side airbags are optionally available. The performance sedan also features electronic door locks with a child lock feature and ISOfix anchors. Driver aids and assists consist of ABS with electronic brake control and brake assist, and traction and stability control. Audi pre-sense city and basic, covering functions like seat belt tensioning in the event of a crash, are included as standard. Lane departure warning is also included as standard, but you'll have to pay for the RS Driver Assistance Package if you want active lane assistance with the adaptive cruise control. This package also adds the park assistant plus, replacing the rearview camera, with auto park assist and a top-view camera.
