The NHTSA and IIHS tend to avoid crashing cars in this price range, so unfortunately there is no official safety review for the Audi S8, but one glance at its safety features list should put most minds at ease.
NHTSA safety ratings are not available at this time.
Standard safety tech includes stability and traction control and massive brakes with ABS. A tire-pressure monitor, HD Matrix LED headlights with auto high beams, and front and rear parking sensors make life a bit safer and easier, and advanced driver assistance features such as forward collision alert with autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, cruise control, Audi pre sense basic and front, and a surround-view camera help to make this a safe car. There are eight airbags inside the cabin of the S8 with an extra airbag included when you option the four-seat configuration. On the options list you get adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, night vision assist, vehicle exit warning, and traffic sign recognition.

The 2023 A8 and S8 range were recall-free at the time of writing, but 2022 models were recalled for one issue relating to the rearview camera display being faulty. 2021 models have seen their fair share of reliability issues, however, with recalls listed by the NHTSA for rear axle alignment issues, rearview camera display problems, seat belt retractor failure, and an engine control module malfunction.
Audi will cover the S8 with a four-year/50,000-mile basic and drivetrain warranty, an eight-year/100,000-mile hybrid component warranty, and four years of roadside assistance.
