The SQ5 takes one of Audi’s best-selling models and amps up the performance with a stronger engine and sportier body lines. We expect to see a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that produces 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic gearbox and standard all-wheel drive. Audi claimed a 0-60 mph time of 5.1 seconds for the 2019 model, so we expect to see the same for 2020.
The new SQ5 should also continue to feature top-notch tech features like a 7-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, Bluetooth, leather and Alcantara upholstery, heated front seats, tri-zone climate controls, a panoramic sunroof, and more.
Advanced safety features are available and include rear cross-traffic alerts, steering assist, and a load of Audi-developed semi-automated driver aids. The SQ5 also features a pre-sense collision system that starts closing windows, the sunroof, and pre-tensioning seatbelts if it senses a collision is imminent.
The SQ5 goes up against the BMW X3 M, Mercedes-AMG GLC and Porsche Macan. We don’t have pricing details for the new models yet but they should be close to the $52,400 starting price of the 2019 model.
