The newly revived 8 Series Convertible is available in a single trim level, the M850i xDrive. At the heart of this reborn powerhouse is a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that presents drivers with 523 hp and 553 lb-ft, which powers all four wheels simultaneously. Mated to the engine is a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox.
As the most advanced convertible offered by BMW thus far, the 8 Series comes well-equipped from the get-go. The 16-way power front seats are upholstered in Merino leather and feature heating as standard. Other basic features include dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and ignition, and a wireless charging device. The convertible rides on 20-inch alloys and comes with a fair number of advanced safety features, including a rearview camera, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and a surround-view camera. A 10.25-inch iDrive touchscreen comes standard with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, navigation, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system that supports AM/FM/CD/MP3 playback and SiriusXM.
