This grand tourer features all the bits and pieces that make the 840i so special but adds one all-important ingredient: all-wheel drive. It takes just 4.6 seconds for the AWD model to hit 60, three tenths quicker than the 840i with RWD. There is a drawback, however: the 840i xDrive weighs a significant 4,281 lbs. The AWD system also alters the 8 Series Gran coupe's weight distribution, which now stands at 51.8/48.2 front to rear. The 840i RWD has a marginally more balanced 50.8/49.2 front/rear weight distribution.
