Alpina is no stranger to creating masterpieces out of BMW’s standard models, and the B7 feels like the epitome of decades of experience. Built on the foundation of the 750i, the Alpina variant takes the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 and tunes it up to develop 600 horsepower and 590 lb-ft. A refined eight-speed automatic transmission takes this power and directs it to all four wheels, as needed.
Of course, such a unique variant of an established nameplate needs to stand out, and the B7 does so with bespoke 20-inch Alpina alloy wheels, a special rear spoiler, and quad exhaust tips. The cabin is upholstered in lavish leather and the multicontour front seats offer 20 directions of power-adjustability, heating, ventilation, and massage functions. There is also quad-zone climate control, remote engine start, and a comprehensive infotainment suite that comprises navigation, Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. There is no shortage of safety features, either, with tech including adaptive cruise control, forward collision avoidance, parking assistance plus, a surround-view camera, and blind-spot monitoring.
