2024 Alpina XB7 Interior

One of last year's biggest upgrades to the Alpina XB7 was the fitment of BMW's Curved Display and the associated tech that comes with it. It goes a long way to lift the interior to a futurist, truly modern space that functions in an effortless and ergonomic way. But it's not just about screen real estate and software because other updates stretch to a fleshed-out driver assistance suite and the use of high-quality, plush materials throughout. Alpina's brilliance lies in crafting great interiors as much as it relates to tweaked performance, and in the XB7, it's showcased perfectly.

Seating and Interior Space

Like the X7 on which it's based, the Alpina XB7 is large and spacious enough to seat up to seven. For maximum occupancy, the XB7 can be specified with a three-seater bench in the second row, while captain's chairs in this position will drop the seat count to six.

The six-seater configuration is more conducive to spacious accomodations for all parties, although the front occupants get the lion's share, regardless. With 41.9 inches of headroom and and 39.8 inches for their legs, those in the front will have little to complain about. Second-row passengers get just under 40 inches of headroom and 37.6 inches of stretching room for their legs. Those relegated to the third row have less space to work with, so it's best to keep those seats for younger passengers that don't have long limbs.

Interior Colors and Materials

Extended Merino leather is the standard fare when it comes to seats for the BMW Alpina XB7. Four color schemes are available, namely Ivory White, Coffee, Black, and Tartufo. For $1,500, buyers can opt for full Merino leather in Black or Tartufo, or a combination of Ivory White and Atlas Grey. Naturally, the steering wheel is wrapped in Lavalina leather, another touch that is unique to Alpina models.

There are many options to choose from when it comes to the Alpina XB7's interior trim, including Fineline Open Pore Wood, Strip Brown High Gloss Wood, Anthracite-Brown Poplar Matte Finish, Carbon Fiber, or Silver Ash Root Open Pore Wood. BMW Individual options include Piano Black and Fine Wood Ash Grain, while two Alpina specials are also on offer: Myrtle Wood and Walnut Nature Black.

2024 Alpina XB7 Trunk and Cargo Space

Being a large family hauler, the XB7 doesn't skimp on cargo capacity and its interior space is the same as that of the regular X7. There are 12.8 cubic feet available behind the third row for grocery bags, school kit, and a briefcase. Folding down the rear-most seats opens up 48.6 cubes in terms of trunk space, while the second row stows away to give you 90.4 cubes in total.

Space for small items is generous, with large door pockets, an armrest cubby up front, a glove box, and dual cupholders in the front and rear which are heated and cooled for the ultimate in convenience.

2024 Alpina XB7 Infotainment and Features

Features

Since there's just one Alpina XB7 model, it comes fully-loaded with all the bells and whistles that uphold its luxury status. Standard features include a personal eSIM 5G, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, a full-color head-up display, gesture control, a drive recorder, active cruise control with stop & go, remote engine start, and five-zone automatic climate control. All doors have a soft-close function, and there is multi-color ambient lighting to help set the mood. The front seats come with heating, ventilation, and massage as standard, and the steering wheel, armrests, and rear seats get heating, too.

The driver assistance suite gets active lane keeping with side-collision avoidance, Active Driving Assistant Professional (with traffic-jam assist, steering and lane-keeping assist, lane-change assist, an evasion aid, pedestrian detection, blind-spot detection, and front collision warning) and Parking Assistant Professional as standard. The latter includes a surround-view camera and active park distance control - a rearview camera is standard.

Infotainment

Infotainment forms part of the BMW Curved Display setup, which comprises a 12.3-inch screen for the driver-information cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment setup. It runs on iDrive 8 software and is imbued with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, and SiriusXM with a one-year subscription. Sound goes through a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system with a 464-watt amplifier, although a truly premium Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system with 20 speakers is available if you're happy to spend $3,400 more.
