As a standalone model by Alpina but manufactured by BMW at its Spartanburg plant, there is a single BMW Alpina XB7 trim. Specs include an Alpina-fettled engine and gearbox, with 630 hp and 590 lb-ft, sent to the AWD system via an eight-speed automatic transmission; no other powertrain configurations are offered. Performance specifications are impressive and Alpina claims a 0-60 mph time of under four seconds and a top speed of 180 mph. The XB7 also gets a bespoke suspension setup.
On the outside, the sole XB7 trim level comes with LED headlights containing real Swarovski crystals, 23-inch bespoke wheels, new front and rear fascias, and quad tailpipes. The interior comes with Merino leather, and 18-way power-adjustable seats with heating, ventilation, and a massaging function. Alpina also removes the iDrive controller, shifter, and steering wheel and replaces these items with its custom-made units, which feature hand-stitched leather and crystal glass. The new XB7 features BMW's giant Curved Display. A 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system is stock fitted but a 20-speaker Bowers & Wilkins is an option, along with a few others. No separate packages are available, as the XB7 is already fully equipped.
Standard safety systems include active blind spot assist, a parking assistant, lane keep assist, frontal collision warning with city collision mitigation, active cruise control, and a surround-view camera system. A full-color head-up display is also standard.
Since the XB7 is a one-model special, there aren't that many additional packages and options to equip and specifications are straightforward as a result. The only changes you can make - barring the colors, wheels, and interior trim - is to choose seating configurations: either second-row captain's chairs for $850 or to keep the second-row bench seat. A trailer hitch can be optioned on for $550, and the $3,400 Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system is available if you want to upgrade the infotainment system. Matching the Alcantara headliner to your upholstery or equipping Shadowline exterior trim won't cost you anything extra, according to the manufacturer.
