Two trims comprise the BMW iX range. The xDrive50 kicks things off and utilizes a 111.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and dual electric motors to produce 516 hp and 564 lb-ft - enough to hit 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. The M60 has even more power - 610 hp and 811 lb-f, to be exact. However, it can't achieve the same 324-mile range as the base model.
It may be the entry-level offering, but the cheaper of the two BMW iX models boasts impressive standard specifications. There's LED lighting, 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and a powered tailgate, along with a variety of luxuries hidden inside. Occupants will delight in the four-zone climate control, 12-speaker audio system, and ambient lighting. The seats (trimmed in Sensatec) are heated and have power adjustment up front. A dual-screen infotainment setup includes a 12.3-inch driver's display and a larger 14.9-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. Blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and forward collision assist come standard.
The M60 receives sportier styling and standard 21-inch wheels. Inside, passengers enjoy even more luxury thanks to the standard front seat ventilation, rear seat and armrest heating, and the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System.
Looking at the BMW iX specs, it's hard to imagine needing any options, but there are a few upgrade opportunities available. The xDrive50 is available in three design configurations; Shadowline, BMW i Signature Blue Package ($300), and Sport ($2,500). Opting for 21- or 22-inch Aero wheels will set you back $950.
BMW has bundled the most desirable options into one expensive option for the base xDrive50: the Premium Package. For $3,700, buyers will receive a Harmon Kardon surround sound system, a surround-view camera, and head-up display, an interior camera, multi-functional seats, personal eSIM 5G, and Parking Assistant Plus. For $3,400 more, you can switch out the Harman Kardon unit for 30 speakers courtesy of Bowers & Wilkins.
The $2,200 Convenience Package samples some of the items on the Premium Package, including the head-up display, Harman Kardon sound system, surround-view monitor, and Parking Assistance Plus. You also get Iconic Sounds Electric for "emotional sounds" for the cockpit, catered to each drive mode.
For $2,300, the Driving Assistance Professional Package adds active driving assistant pro, a surround-view monitor, traffic jam assist, active lane keeping with side collision avoidance, active cruise control, and enhanced parking assistance
