Rather than offer multiple trim levels, there is only one BMW M2 to choose from, and performance specs will differ depending on whether you go for the standard six-speed manual gearbox or the optional eight-speed automatic. Both transmissions are paired to a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine making 453 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, and power is directed to the rear wheels exclusively. The steering and suspension are uniquely tuned to differentiate this model from the rest of the 2 Series range.
Both M2 configurations come with 19-/20-inch alloy wheels, Vernasca leather upholstery with heated front seats, the BMW Curved Display running iDrive 8 software, automatic climate control, and illuminated M trim. Several options and package choices are available to boslter specifications for both trim levels at an additional cost, adding items like remote start, wireless device charging, a heated steering wheel, a parking assistant, and active cruise control.
