The M3 Competition xDrive is identical to the RWD Competition in terms of its appearance both inside and out, as well as every single piece of standard equipment and every feature. The only difference is the addition of xDrive AWD, which increases its weight by 100 pounds, but adds so much additional traction on a hard launch that it improves the RWD car's 0-60 sprint by 0.4 seconds, bringing it right down to 3.4 seconds. The extra weight and drivetrain drag have an effect on fuel economy and the RWD Competition's EPA estimates on the city/highway/combined cycles are reduced from the RWD car's 16/23/19 mpg to 16/22/18 mpg. The xDrive sits a marginal 0.1 inches higher off the ground than the RWD car.
