The standard BMW M4 offers the only remaining manual gearbox in the compact luxury sports coupe segment, although keen drivers should rather opt for the snappy seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox to make the most of the 425 hp derived from the turbocharged inline-six. It’s all put to the ground through 18-inch alloy wheels, with performance-tuned M suspension giving the M4 exceptional handling. Despite being a base model, the M4 is well equipped with LED headlights, a carbon-fiber roof, keyless entry, heated power-adjustable sports seats, dual-zone climate control, and an 8.8-inch infotainment system with 16 Harman Kardon speakers. Subscription-based Apple CarPlay functionality is included, but notably no Android Auto. We’d advise opting for the Competition Package for more power and enhanced handling - to make the M4 the best it can be.
