Two trim levels comprise the BMW X4 range for 2020: the xDrive30i and M40i. The lower trim comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that directs 248 hp and 258 lb-ft to all four wheels. The upper trim gets a more potent turbocharged six-cylinder engine that develops 382 hp and 365 lb-ft. Both engines come mated to the same eight-speed automatic transmission with Sport and Manual shifts modes and steering-wheel-mounted paddles.
In true luxury vehicle fashion, the base xDrive30i comes well-appointed. The crossover rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and boasts a full complement of LED exterior lighting. The cabin is upholstered in SensaTec synthetic leather, with ten-way power front seats, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering column. Dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and Comfort Access keyless entry come standard. A 10.25-inch infotainment display supports Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, navigation, and HD Radio, controlled via a touchpad, and channeled through a 12-speaker HiFi sound system. Standard safety features include forward collision avoidance, and front and rear sonar.
Available features include M sport brakes and suspension, full LED headlights, 14-way power front sport seats, SiriusXM, lane keeping assist, parking assist, and front and rear cross-traffic alert.
