The 2019 X7 is BMW’s flagship seven-seater and is available in two configurations, both of which are all-wheel-drive and have a slick-shifting eight-speed automatic.
The xDrive40i is the base model, fitted with a 3.0-liter inline-six that makes 335 hp and 330 lb-ft torque. 21-inch wheels are standard, while the interior boasts leather upholstery, a three-panel panoramic glass roof, a rearview camera, power-adjustable sport leather steering wheel, keyless entry, power-adjustable seats throughout the cabin, and heated front seats. The BMW Active Driving Assistant system is standard on this model, as is a one-year subscription to Apple CarPlay. The top-end xDrive50i replaces the six-cylinder engine with a 4.4-liter V8 that produces 456 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. Standard improvements over the base model include multi-contour sport seats with lumbar support, a premium Harman Kardon sound system, and the acclaimed Active Driving Assistant Pro system (extended traffic jam assist, lane-keeping assist, automatic lane-change, evasion aid, and active cruise control). Parking Assistant Plus, a head-up display, and SiriusXM are also standard.
