The entry point into the Encore GX range is the Preferred, a capable little crossover city SUV with a lot going for it. Under the hood, you can find either a turbocharged 1.2-liter or 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine, and while the smaller of the two is nippy enough for driving around town, the 1.3-liter option is a little less lethargic. The exterior features 18-inch alloy wheels and auto-on/off halogen headlights. On the inside, the Preferred offers standard features such as a six-way manually-adjustable driver's seat, two USB charging ports, a compass display, and a rear vision camera. Standard safety systems include eight airbags, forward collision alert, and lane-keep assist.
