2024 Encore GX Exterior
The exterior of the Buick Encore GX is substantially revised this year and gains Buick's new corporate face as seen on the Wildcat EV concept car, as well as the new tri-shield Buick logo. The Preferred gets a plain black grille, the ST a gloss-black ST sport grille, and the Avenir an exclusive Avenir Black Ice grille. All trims use the same basic front and rear bumper moldings, but the lower fascias' detailing differs by trim. Only the Preferred makes do without roof rails, and both it and the ST run on 18-inch alloy wheels (gloss black on the latter), while the Avenir gets Premium Pearl Nickel 19-inchers and carbon-metallic bodyside moldings. ST and Avenir have LED taillights with clear lenses on the latter, but all trims come with automatic LED headlights from this year. Interestingly, foglights aren't featured on any of the trims.

Dimensions
As we've intimated before, the Buick Encore GX's dimensions put it in the subcompact-plus class, between the subcompact and compact classes, along with the VW Taos and Mazda CX-30. It's very similar in size to these two rivals, with a length of 171.4 inches stretched over a 102.2-inch wheelbase, a width of 71,4 inches without the mirrors, and a height of 64.1 inches. Buick has not provided a figure for the Encore GX's ground clearance, but it should be very similar to the 2023 model's 7.5 inches, so it's again not suitable for anything more off-roady than a dirt road. The lightest curb weight belongs to the 1.2-liter FWD Preferred at 3,025 lbs. Adding the 1.3-liter engine and AWD pushes that figure up to 3,256 lbs. The heaviest model in the lineup is the Avenir AWD at 3,273 lbs.

Exterior Colors
There is a selection of eight exterior colors for the Buick Encore GX, and the bottom three trims have access to all eight. On the Preferred and ST, the only no-cost color is Summit White, with the six metallics costing $495 being Copper Ice, Cinnabar, Ebony Twilight, Ocean Blue, Sunrise Red, and Moonstone Gray. White Frost Tricoat is the only $1,095 hue. The Avenir's palette is reduced to five colors, with Ebony Twilight, Cinnabar, Ocean Blue, and Moonstone Gray all no-cost options on this trim, and White Frost Tricoat costing only $600.
