There are three trim levels available: Preferred, Sport Touring (ST), and Avenir. In terms of mechanical specs, the Encore GX trims offer various possible powertrain configurations. The Preferred can be had with either a 1.2-liter or 1.3-liter engine with 137 hp and 155 hp, respectively. The Sport Touring and Avenir are available only with the 1.3-liter. AWD goes with the larger engine and nine-speed auto 'box only, and is available across the lineup, while FWD is standard. The base model includes 18-inch alloys, automatic LED headlights and DRLs, a six-way manually-adjustable driver's seat, cloth-and-leatherette upholstery, active noise-cancellation, single-zone climate control, cruise control, and a brand-new digital cockpit whose specifications include an eight-inch digital gauge cluster and 11-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a six-speaker audio system.
Higher up the trim ladder, you get an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar support, leatherette or leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel and front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a cabin humidity sensor, a rear center armrest, remote start, a six-way power fold-flat front passenger seat, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Standard driver assists include forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and lane-keep assist, but additional driver aids can be added via a package. Various other options are also on the menu, such as a trailer hitch, rain-sensing wipers, and a camera-based digital rearview mirror.
Various extra-cost packages are available, even on the base model. A few notable ones offered on both the Preferred and ST include the $1,095 Advanced Technology package (wireless charging pad, adaptive cruise control, rear parking sensors, and an HD surround-view camera) and the $1,295 Comfort package (eight-way power driver's seat with lumbar controls, heated steering wheel and front seats, flat-folding front passenger seatback, rear center armrest, and remote start). Only the ST has access to the $1,695 Experience Buick package, which adds a power panoramic sunroof and gloss-black 19-inch alloy wheels.
The Avenir gets its own exclusive packages, including the $1,295 Avenir Convenience package (rain-sensing wipers, rear parking sensors, a hands-free power liftgate, and a seven-speaker Bose audio system) and the $1,395 Avenir Technology package (adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera, a camera-based digital interior rearview mirror, and a wireless charging pad), but you can't have the latter package without also adding the former for a total cost of $2,690.
